Men are such babies. It is called a vasectomy, and it is not anywhere CLOSE to castration...which I was about ready to do to my husband while I was in labor. It is a lot easier for a guy to get "Fixed" than for a woman to have to go in to get her tubes tied. There is no danger of a man (I use that term loosely) in getting a vasectomy, but if a woman was to get pregnant after getting her tubes tied there is a 16-50% chance of her having an etopic (Tubal) pregnancy.

Vasectomies are a cake walk. In fact, when I got mine, I got some valium, and it was actually one of the better experiences I've had. Felt great all day, was waited on hand and foot by my wife, got to sit around for two days straight and do NOTHING - without the guilt trip! Plus, if you're done having kids, it's a great feeling knowing that you can't "whoops" and bring another life into the world on accident. The pain is extremely minor, like having a mild stomachache for a few hours. The second day I felt pretty normal, as long as I wasn't tossing around haybails, or doing jumping jacks. Third day - back to work. It's really, really easy, and the possible complications are minor, and remote. I'll talk to your guy if you want! Good luck!

i just had one done it is a vasectomy. It is a out paient procedure it take 15 to 20min and you can go back to work in two days. you can't lift anything heavy for a week so if you have a job that requires lifting you need to take some time. It is not that painful and just generally uncomfortable.
Some men think you are less of a man or that you are cutting your man hood. you still produce semen just not sperm. After the operation you go back in month and check to make sure it worked you have to use alternate protection until then

A vasectomy is no picnic for the guy either. There are always going to be a chance for problems with any body modification because the body is not designed to be altered.

He gets a vasectomy and he can't get you pregnant.
You get your tubes tied and *no one* can get you pregnant.

VASECTOMY
I haven't heard about difficulties for women as a result of the surgery, but it's BY FAR easier (physically) to re-connect the mans 'tubes'.
