"And the days of Adam after his fathering Seth came to be eight hundred years. Meanwhile he became father to sons AND daughters." -Gen. 5:4

So Cain went into banishment in "the land of Fugitiveness to the east of Eden," taking with him his wife, an anonymous daughter of Adam and Eve. (Ge 4:16, 17)

Cain's wife was probably a sister, niece, or cousin.

The Bible doesn't prohibit incest until the time of Noah,

Adam is reported to live 900+ years in that time he and Eve could have had thousands of children. At the beginning of humanity there wouldn't be many, or any genetic problems with inter-marriage.

The common mistake some skeptics make is in assuming that since the Bible doesn't mention any other children of Adam/Eve there weren't any others. That is merely an assumption not borne out by the text.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Think.
God had to make reproduction through Adam and Eve- therefore it is obvious that their children had eachothers children, and back then it was not a sin- for that was the only way- and it speaks in the Bible about how it became a sin at one point....of course after many people were already in the world. And diseases come from this sort of thing now.....not only that but other things too.
It is not written exactly in the Bible of where cain's wife came from- but because of what IS written, we can see it must of been this way.

Cain's wife came from other people created besides Adam & Eve. Why do you think Cain was concerned about being killed by others after he was banned from Eden? God put a mark on his head to prevent that from happening.....

Cain settled in the land of Nod...probably where his wife was from....

"Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."

15 But the LORD said to him, "Not so ; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. 16 So Cain went out from the LORD's presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden" (GEN 4:14-16).

East of Eden in the land of Nod.
You are right it is said that Adam and Eve were the first created in God's image.
Genesis 4:14 "Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."

The mystery lies behind the "whoever in this statement. As I said before Adam and Eve were the first created in God's image. Perhaps the "whoever" is where science and religion just might meet up.

Genesis 4:16
And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

In the legends of the Jewish people there were animals that walked like men. You could think of them as Neanderthals, if you like. Cain married one of these from the land of Nod.
