ok here is the question. i'm not being ignorant or anything. i'm just wondering.
I was thinking, christains say there is that God has many names: God, the holy spirit, the father, Jesus Christ, and that's all i remember. but what confuses me is that isn't (according to your beliefs)Jesus Christ God's son? so why cal him God? i mean isn't that different? So can Jesus have a son too?
Please though, i'm not an atheist, i believe in God too, but i don't understand this about the christains. i know he accepts prayers and all, but do you consider him God?
Thanks in advance.

It's a way of resolving a problem about the basic nature of Jesus. If he was merely human, then how is he different from any other "prophet" or madman talking about heaven and claiming to "forgive" sins? But if he's God, who was running the universe during those thirty-odd years he was living in Palestine? Two gods is an unacceptable solution, so somehow Jesus had to be human AND the one, true God while also remaining in heaven.

The solution was to understand that God could form a relationship with himself in the form of separate "persons". Since Jesus said he would send a helper to get the Church started (the Pentecost event), a third "person", the Holy Spirit, was added to the idea. "Son" does not mean "child". They just couldn't think of a better word to describe the relationship.

They actually had a lot of fights over this in the early days. One group said Jesus was special, even "divine", but couldn't be "God". They eventually lost the battle for Christian hearts and minds. Since then, the Trinity has been the Christian concept of the One God for most Christian denominations. No one claims to underestand it completely, but they don't want to fight the battle again.

God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are ONE in the same- This is hard for people to understand because we are human, and we are bringing God down to our level, when HIS ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts as Isaiah 55 says.
God became flesh ( John 1:1) He did this in order to die for the sins of those who believe- and He rose again- defeating death- Only God can do this. And He did this through Jesus Christ-- they are "ONE" as John 10 says. Also 1 John speaks of Jesus being the "true God" He is Lord and Savior-- He is the Alpha and Omega ( Revelation 1:7-8)
He is God's son and He is also God- Nothing is impossible with God- remember that. But please do not forget His word- and do not forget Jesus is sinless, and has always been- And only God is sinless. God can only defeat death- and Jesus defeated death. We who believe defeat death through Jesus Christ! We pass from death (hell) to life! (Heaven!)

Also there is only ONE God, not two- if Jesus were "a" god that means there would be two gods....And God is clear that He is the ONLY GOD. This is another thing to think about as you read the scriptures.....God is truly awesome!

I would consider Jesus a God. Jesus claimed He was with God when the world was made. He only became the Son of God through devine intervention. He left Heaven to be God in the flesh for man to see. Also to over throw the devils hold on death. Also to be the ultimate sacrifice for sin.

There are 3 in the Deity, The Father,The Son,The Holy Spirit so these three agree in one, The Father Is Not the Son and the Son is not the Father. The Father sent his Son to die for us.

"can Jesus Spiritually have a Son too? "

The relationship as I see it expressed in the Bible is : Jesus has a lot of adopted brothers. Not sons, but fathers.

I know that you got a lot of nice answers about Jesus being God too, but I didn't see this answer given. God called Jesus God. He did it in a prophetic way in Psalm 45
6 Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.
, and then it was repeated in Hebrews 1
8But about the Son he says,
"Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever,
and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy."

So if you are reading it right, God called Jesus God. And that, and other things in the Bible which are similar axiomatically resove the so called issue of the "Trinity."

Jesus is not God’s Son in the sense of how we think of a father and a son. God did not get married and have a son. Jesus is God’s Son in the sense that He is God made manifest in human form (John 1:1,14). Jesus is God's Son in that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:35 declares, "The angel answered, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.'" In Bible times, the phrase “son of man” was used to describe a human being. The son of a man is a man.

During His trial before the Jewish leaders, the High Priest demanded of Jesus, “I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God" (Matthew 26:63). Jesus responded, “Yes, it is as you say, ‘but I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven” (Matthew 26:64). The Jewish leaders responded by accusing Jesus of blasphemy (Matthew 26:65-66). Later, before Pontius Pilate, “The Jews insisted, ‘We have a law, and according to that law He must die, because He claimed to be the Son of God’” (John 19:7). Why would claiming to be the “Son of God” be considered blasphemy and be worthy of a death sentence? The Jewish leaders understood exactly what Jesus meant by the phrase “Son of God.” To be the “Son of God” is to be of the same nature as God. The “Son of God” is “of God.” The claim to be of the same nature as God, to in fact “be God,” was blasphemy to the Jewish leaders; therefore, they demanded Jesus’ death. Hebrews 1:3 expresses this very clearly, “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being…”

Another example can be found in John 17:12 where Judas is described as the "son of perdition." John 6:71 tells us that Judas was the son of Simon. What does John 17:12 mean by describing Judas as the "son of perdition"? The word "perdition" means "destruction, ruin, waste." Judas was not the literal son of "ruin, destruction, and waste" - but those things were the identity of Judas' life. Judas was a manifestation of perdition. In this same aspect, Jesus is the Son of God. The Son of God is God. Jesus is God made manifest (John 1:1,14).

Jesus was fully man and fully God at the same time. One person - two natures.

We are co-heirs with Christ - so Him having a "spiritual son" is not really applicable.

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

The Word refers to Jesus

See:

Jhn 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Its pretty simple actually - God the Father put some of His Holy Spirit in a flesh and blood body born of a virgin. Thta makes Jesus BOTH THE SON AND THE FATHER.

PRAISE HIM WITH ME TODAY!

You are asking about what some people call the Holy Trinity, three people in one. It's been debated down through the centuries. Try googling it to read some of the arguments.
