Hi I am going to MEPS in about two weeks and I need to drop 7 pounds. Ive already lost about 40 pounds to reach my goal but my recruiter wants to take me down to MEPS around the first of September. I was wondering if I could take a laxative and eat lots of fiber for a day or two before I go down to enlist. The thing is the Max weight requirement for me is 215 and Im 222 and I dont want to be right at 215 when I go to MEPS just in case I retain water or something. I was wondering if a Laxative would help lose some extra pounds that I have cuz I only go #2 like once every week it seems since Ive been on my diet. So I wonder if would help get ride of that extra weight thanks

I think that losing weight to get into the service is a bad idea. You are going to force yourself to live with that weight restriction for years along with all the other stress.

Guess what, depending on the Service you join? You have to keep the weight off. If I was you work off the weight the right way. Proportion your meals don't diet, cut the fat, sugars and junk. Eat healthy snacks between meals, and exercise daily. Walking is the best form of weight loss. Also depending if you male or female plus your age factors in how much you can weight. Hint. A male 5'8 Age: 17-20 W: 170lb the max you can weigh at age is: 181lb and 40 years. A female same height: 164lb max Age: 17-20 - max 171 at age: 40 So most people weight at least 5-10lb below those weights. Good luck
