HEISCOMINGINTHECLOUD---Sorry, but are you suggesting that Noah built his ark using stone tools and ox bones, while wearing a bear skin jockstrap?

Fortunately, I have the gift of prophecy, and can see far into the future. Typically, an environmental stressor applied to a genetically isolated population is required to spur evolutionary change. After populations of humans have existed in orbital habitats for hundreds of generations, in a weightless environment, they will end up with a beachball shaped body, with spindly arms and legs and a protruding, muscular, tube-like anus. They will subsist mainly on a diet of cabbage, peas, pork-and-beans and beer, and propel themselves about their environment via controlled flatulence. THEN, humans will have finally evolved into a form that is consistent with god's image.

Oh... and their sense of smell will atrophy... and they won't get many visitors.

Unlikely. Although evolutionary change is occurring all the time (you get, on average, about one mutation a year), these are mostly invisible, and are either innocuous or may be of some use in fighting a disease process (such as the 1918 flu epidemic or the black plague). Visible evolutionary change can arise from separation of populations (consider racial characteristics, or the unique biota of Australia, which was the first to separate from Pangaea), or from environmental stress; in a low stress period, a change isn't likely to provide much survival advantage, but if survival is already at risk for some reason, it may well do so. With the human species now reasonably well fed and able to reproduce pretty much at will, there is very little environmental push for evolutionary change at present.

Not according to natural selection, as it is no longer survival of the fittest. We care for our weak and sickly, and thus have removed natural selection (the mechanism by which evolution functions) from the equation. There will be suttle changes, but societally, we tend to view genetic abnormalities or mutations as unattractive. Therefore, mutations (specifically outward changes) will be very difficult to pass on, and another factor to overcome is the lack of a closed environment. Humans can change environment at will, negating the need for adaptation (this occurs thru our use of technology).

One starts as a ray of light (Soul) - takes on the elements (earth, fire, water, and air) - lives and hopefully learns - then returns from whence one came as a ray of light (Soul).

It's such a marvel of marvels..........

Who knows what the (human form) will be like two thousand years into the future! Only the One known as the Creator!

Yes. We actually are losing our little fingers slowly-- there's no need for them anymore. Million years and we'll look like the Simpsons.

But perhaps if God exists, he changes as well? Maybe both Evolution and the Bible are right, and he used to be fishlike and we evolve slowly with Him?

Agnostic :)

Those who die in Christ will receive a new body, one that is incorruptible and will never die.

As for evolution, do not mistake it with adaptation to ones environment.

Mankind has been the same since the beginning. He has not evolved as some would have one believe. The reason why there was debate of man's physical appearance and belief in man evolving is because of bones of men, such as Cro-Magnum and Neanderthal man, that were claimed to be mankind millions of years ago.

That is a lie. The remains of these men were merely preflood men. The bones were of men who lived much longer lives then men of today. If you read in the bible, you will see that men lived hundreds of years and their appearance changed dramatically over time because their bones continued to grow as long as there was life in them.

Eventually we will.

But who ever said that "God's image" wasn't a metaphor? It doesn't have to be a physical image. It can be mental, spiritual, etc.

We will probably wipe ourselves out before the cycle runs that far.

We can speculate but in the end there is no way to know for sure.
