Well my packing is done, the house all tidy but I am afraid to go to sleep now in case I oversleep and miss my train !(I have pre-booked a very cheap ticket to the Yorkshire Coast but *must* get on that specified train - certainly no hanging about in airport terminals for me though - I am my own "baggage handler"!).
I must say that it is nice just having myself to care for and I shall stay away just so long as the weather holds up - maybe even longer!
Isn't it nice to relax sometimes - after having had things out and leaving others to think about things until you return and the air has cleared?
Anyhow I am only saying this because last time I went off someone posted a question asking where I was - well this time you know and I am going to have a *real* break away from it all (including Y!A !).
Best wishes,
Joan.
Oh - I shall resolve the rest of my open questions before I go too - thank you for the answers - I have learnt some useful things.

I am going to Scarborough intitially,Crackerjack, because I have a friend there and then once the Bank Holiday is past I shall re-explore the whole coast - by bus and on foot - and relive my childhood again certainly at Whitby,Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay.
As for the rock - no it will rot your teeth! but on Friday at five o'clock you may end up with a cabbage (but I doubt it as you have the right answers as to where it's best to holiday in this country!).

Well I said what needed to be said to *both* of them "spaismunky" and the boys are still down South with her Mother and they'll drive back down there for the Bank Holiday (having just flown in to there last weekend and left them there) but that is fine by me - I shall be at the seaside! - and I may even stay over there even when the schools go back (it will be more peaceful then anyway).

Thank you "R" - no thank you I am keeping my feet firmly on the (Yorkshire) ground but each to their own!
The boys are down South so that's fine - they probably will get ice-cream down there but nothing like the knickerbocker glories at Scarborough and "Crackerjack" has mentioned the fish and chips already!
And you're right - footloose and fancy free I may well be seen chatting up the lifeguards on the beach!

Yes,Lettie - that is what I meant when I said I had learnt things on Y!A this past week - I may put my mind to it when I return from being "like a rolling stone"!

Whereabouts on the Yorkshire coast exactly?
Could it be Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay?
Robin Hood's Bay is the nicest spot on the whole of the east coast, and Whitby, there's something about that place that makes you just want to keep going back. But wherever you are going,Have a good old time, enjoy your break, leave all your worries behind and just relax.Let us know when you get back how things went.
Have a safe journey.

P.S. Can you bring me a stick of rock back please?Any flavour but Aniseed, lol

Joan..When you get to Robin Hood's Bay,go to the chip shop at the bottom of the hill,it's up that narrow path on the right. They do excellent fish and chips, and then go across to the Bay Hotel and if you drink have one for me,mine's an ice cold Guinness.Cheers!

Thanks for the link.

Bon voyage is French yet you assert it in Haitian Creole and different French Creole too. The pronounciation is the comparable yet you write it in a different way in Haitian Creole . it incredibly is going to be "Bon Vwayaj" yet you will pronounce it Bon voyage. like the French one.

"after having had things out and leaving others to think about things until you return and the air has cleared?"

Oh dear Joan, what have you said?

Anyway, enjoy your break and as well as the others, why don't you take a little time to think about things as well and while you're nice and relaxed you may see that most of your worries are tiny and you could have so much more fun just enjoying the boys.
Have fun.
