If I was god, I would. I hate people fawning for my attention.

Thats a very weird question. How could God be an atheist if He is a God Himself? If God was an atheist He would be contradicting Himself so makes no sense at all. And what do you mean by prefer? God loves everybody whether your an atheist christian or whatever religion you are. He only wants those that are lost to (atheists) find their way to Him.

Your premis is wrong. God is not spelled with a lower case g. Those who believe in His Son have the right to become sons of God. Notice that I spelled human believers (sons) with a lower case s. There is only one God and there is none like Him.
The gods of this world are powerless to save themselfs, they are like the grass in the fields, they appear for a short while then are remembered no more.

I had to laugh when I saw your question...
Well... let's see...perhaps because why should He believe in an atheist, if the atheist does not believe in Him?
I mean after all... believing in someone is really a part of preferring them...I suppose.
Here is a joke... An atheist has been sea diving and a shark is circling in on him to eat him. Just as the shark opens its mouth to chomp him... the atheist cries out - "Oh God, please save me from this shark!" So, in an instant he is standing before God, and God asks him, "Why should I help you if you do not believe in me?" The atheist says, "Well, you are right...but, you could make the shark believe in you and honor you!" "That is true, okay - it is done," says God. Then the atheist finds himself in the ocean again. The shark once again closes in on him, then suddenly it stops. The shark bows its its head to pray and says, "Thank you God, for the food I am about to eat."
Now what was that about God preferring people who do not believe in Him?

If by atheist you mean the person who constantly insults God then I doubt it.
But if by atheist you mean the person who has no thoughts of God, neither good nor bad and just lives their life a good one, then something good is probably in store for them.
How would I know? Im not dead yet :D

Do you know what the definition of atheist is? That would only be true if He didn't believe himself to be God or a god. So, as usual, you have asked a pointless question.

God isn't an atheist.
Because God actually believes in himself.

No. He gave us His written Word (the Holy Bible), with His stamp of authenticity upon it (100% accurately fulfilled prophecy). In it He says that a belief in His existence is the only way to come to Him.

Did you even "think" about this before you wrote it?
Please go back and look CAREFULLY at your question.
God KNOWS HE EXISTS!
God knows He is the ONLY GOD.
And we who love and honor Him KNOW He is the only God- What does He say?
Mark 12:30
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'
Whom does His soul love? Whom does He prefer?
Psalm 11:5
The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates.
How can we enter into His kingdom? What does He require?
Acts 26:18
to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'
-Salvation through Jesus Christ! This is the only way- John 14:6
"Unless you are born again you cannot see the kingdom of God" John 3:3
Born again means to believe that Jesus died and rose again- to confess your sins to Him and repent of them- turn away from them! God will grant you a new heart and help you to not sin- He will give you a new desire to honor Him and open your eyes to His wonderful truth- through His Holy Spirit which we receive when we are saved in Him! (Ephesians 1 and 2 Corinthians)

Do your homework then you would not have to post this question.
Your necessity right now is to call up a kingdom hall in your area, speak to an elder and then study with him acquiring accurate knowledge along the way.
Even you, teenagers have the right to gain accurate knowledge, not to just be stupid in the dark and post blasphemy to public forums.
Don't do this ever again; be smart teenager and get yourself some help to read and understand the Bible. When you acquire accurate knowledge you can be strong and not give in to satan's influence to post blasphemy in public or anywhere for that matter.
Do your own homework, do you understand now?
Go...get.

Yep. you might be on to something here.
If an atheist were to seek God, God will treat him like he would any lost sheep. He would be welcomed with open arms, and there would be rejoicing when he comes home.
