is it the big hose from the bottom of the radiator going to the bottom of the water pump?

The thermostat is located on the top-center area of the motor. Pop your hood and look at the area in the top-center or the motor itself. You should see a hose (about the size of the lower radiator hose), sticking out. It might be hard to see because of the Air Conditioning brackets and compressor pump, but it IS back there. Once you get there. You should see a "neck" assembly. You have to remove the neck from the top of the motor (of course after draining the Coolant System) After you remove the neck and hose assembly. You'll see the thermostat sitting in it's little slot. It can be done by the home mechanic, but it is time consuming.

Your thermostat is towards the front of the intake manifold, right behind the alternator and AC Compressor. They can be pretty difficult to access on a 'B' van.Follow the upper radiator hose to the metal tube it attaches to behind the alternator and compressor. It is right there.

The big hose from the top of your radiator where it hooks on the engine is where most are.

You don't state a problem but if your engine is running hot it is probably NOT the thermostat. Save a lot of work and find the problem before you replace parts.
