You should be motivated, school is VERY important. Seriously, once you're old enough to get a job which will most likely be waitressing or at a store, you'll know how cool it will be once you graduate to have an office where you hang and earn 500G a year.
That said, let me tell you that life doesn't have to be that monotonous. You work = you have money to spent. With money to spend you go to places, in those places you meet people, with that people you have fun, once you're done having fun you go home and sleep, you wake up the next day and go to work to make MORE money to repeat over and over again the same process.
Be a little more positive kiddo, don't have such a dull impression of life at such a young age. Hopefully, you'll realize soon how life really is.
Cheer up sugar!

That is why people go to college to get a degree so that they can get a good paying job and love what they do. What do you want to do? What would you love to do (other than stay at home and chill all day)? If your job sucks but you get paid well, then travel, do something exciting once every three months. It gives you something to look forward to. It does sucks that we have to work to make money to live, but that's the way it is and theres no point fight it. Either be broke and live on the street or work hard and work. When you work, never forget to do something fun. Clubbing or hanging with friends, traveling, going to movies. It's kinda like earning your play time. Life should not be all work and no play.

Ever heard of retirement?
Ever heard of working for yourself?
Ever heard of being postitive? If you think life is like that then you're in for a real treat. People work to pay for they're living. You work for what you want.. It's not slavery at all. You just gotta grow up at some point in your life and do the hard work. There's no way around it. With degrees and experience, you will be able to get a job that will allow you to get highly paid and low amount of hours... but you gotta do the work now in your young life... IT WILL PAY OFF BIG TIME WHEN YOUR OLDER.. Remember this... if there's a will, then there's a way."

The purpose isn't live to work, it's work to live. If you're in college you need to get a degree in something you enjoy doing, first of all. Then you won't mind "going to work." You'll find out that when you get paid to do something that you like, you end up making plenty of money. What's the purpose of money? To use to have fun! Yeah, you need to save, buy a house, provide for a family, but if you make a decent amount of money you can afford to travel, take up a new hobby, buy a new surfboard, or whatever. The reality is that no matter how badly you want to just have fun, you still have to live, and that my friend costs money.

Wow... what a great and deep question.
Your right. It does seem that way. The trick is to find what you like to do and get paid for it. That way you are Happy at work and home... I know that might be hard to do. If you cant do that than just be happy doing what you do ,do! It is all worth it in the end, you can have the material things you want, plus the respect from others.
All in all, You control your life! Dont let Life Control you!

I assume you mean you are a HS Freshman.
i would suggest that you work at making excellent grades for the next four years.... then go to college. There are lots of scholarships out there to make it possible for most people to go to college.
Then pick a major that appeals to you. Doing something that you love.
Life isn't just work.... it's family and friends too. It's hobbies and helping others....
Life is What You Make Of It! How YOU define it.

Yep we live to die. It sucks.
But in order to live you have to work.
In order to eat and have shelter, you have to work.
Basically in order to survive you have to work and make money.
*Or you can add to the street population and just beg for money.*
.Alright look, I don't see work as slavery. I mean think about it...everyone contributes something to the workforce, people specialize in certain areas...and such. So I mean you just have to go to school and get your education and then get that hot shot career you've always dreamed of and as long as you work hard and budget your money and whatever....your life can be like having your cake and eating it too :)
.Work isn't slavery if it's something you truly enjoy doing and if it's keeping you financially comfortable and stable as well.
......and for those who feel that work is slavery, that's why they invented VACATIONS.........ya know?!
...so don't fret and don't over analyze work. it's not as bad as it sounds. go to school and get a degree and get the job that doesn't leave you flipping burgers and asking "would you like fries with that?"
.....your life can be honestly fascinating, if you make it that way. Were not all fortunate enough to have the luxury of money at our leisure, unlike those people...we have to climb up the career ladder to get where we want to be, no one is buying our way into life.

No, life shouldn't be about work, but it's kind of necessary. But if you find a career that you are really interested in it won't be just work it would be a passion. The main thing to keep in mind is to choose a job that you will love, and not because of how much you get paid.
