I have had a question for awhile and would be willing to take a psychological exam to go back in. I was discharged for suicidal thoughts and am wondering if I were to get examined for psychological exam could I possibly somehow get back in?

I bet they'd let you in now. It's not as if you were dishonorably discharged. You probably got medical discharge.

But would you really want to join the military? I'm a veteran and I am SO THANKFUL my time is up and I'm not in Iraq. I'd wait until we're no longer invading Iraq before I'd consider re-enlisting.

Once you are discharged with reason, the only way to get back in is to go through a waver process, which means you have to go through a recruiter for a referral to a MEPS processing center, where you will be scheduled to interview with an officer who will make you answer all kinds of questions and provide any documentation you have to support your re-enlistment. If you don't have your documentation with you, he may choose to have you come back in again when you have it. Such documentation can include medical documents, psychological documents, your DD214, your W-2's showing that you have been employed since you were discharged, and anything else he deems important. Ultimately, in order to get back in, you have to get that waver and it's entirely up to the discretion of that officer you will talk to.

Good luck.
