Puppy playbitting is the means by which dogs develop bite inhibition and a soft mouth. The more your puppy bites and receives appropriate feedback, the safer her jaw will be in adulthood. At this age she's learning her bite. The puppy should learn that her bite can hurt long before she develops jaws Strong enough to inflict injury. The greater the pup 's opportunity to play-bite with people and other dogs, and other animals the better her inhibition will be as an adult.

Good bite inhibitions means that should the dog snap and lung, her teeth will seldom make skin contact and should the "bite" will cause little, if any, damage.

This is an easy one and it works...I know from experience.

EVERY TIME (and I mean every time) she bites you say with a loud voice..."OUCH"! You then pick her up (holding her away from you, make it very uncomfortable for her) with out any eye contact, and place her in an area like a bath room, play pen, some where she can't get out...close the door. Do this for about 20 seconds and then let her out and go back to playing or what you were doing...with praise..."Oh, your such a good girl!" Praise, praise, praise! Remember, she's NOT in trouble, she's in training and it most stay positive.

When she's placed away..what she'll think is..."Hey, what's gong on, why did we stop playing, we were having so much fun?"

If you stay on this what she'll soon understand is.... "Man, those human's sure are delicate. Much more then my fellow dog friends."

Try this and let me know how it works. If you stay with it, you'll see as fast difference!!!

IMPORTANT: You need to place all her meals in a Kong (name of toy), this will be her teething ring, it'll keep her busy, she'll have to work for her food, her need for chewing will be met, and she'll learn that only TOYS are okay to bite and chew.

Teething does not take place 'sometimes', he's the two teething, by using around 4 - 5 months, or no longer. Teething is the be conscious used for whilst the domestic dog tooth are available in, and whilst the domestic dog tooth start to get replaced by using the person set. If he's nipping, which all domestic dogs do by using fact that's how they placed across interior the nest (element of!), as could take place together with his siblings, yelp, and end the touch. His muddle friends could yelp and turn away, or come back with an analogous attack and a short spat could take place.. attempt to no longer enable him get to the point the place he bites. If he gets this wound up, take him out to drain, and then convey him in to his mattress. opportunities are high he's getting overtired, and could drop off to sleep. additionally say No Biting! - and you additionally can supply him certainly one of his very own toys on an identical time. No shouting, grabbing his face or something actual, considering the fact which will, with some domestic dogs, in basic terms make him come back for extra - he thinks you're turning out to be a member of contained in the pastime.

Don't tap her nose either that will make it worse and the nose is the most sensitive part on a dog.....When she starts biting just put your hand into a fist and say firmly NO.....It will work. Some people play with a puppy till it is all excited and then its natural reaction is to ither wack you with a paw or nip.........So start trairing now so you don't have issues later

Wow, you've gotten some extremely unhelpful suggestions here.
Tapping, hitting, striking, and slapping your dog are all big no-no's. She bites - you hit her - she bites again. This can only escalate. So, stop hitting your dog.
Instead, when you feel puppy teeth on skin, scream "YIPE!" as loudly as you can and end the game immediately. If you feel that your pup gets more excited by your screaming "YIPE!" then just leave - but it must be immediate.
The puppy learns : "Wow. When my teeth hit skin, the fun's totally over." Puppies and dogs learn by repetition - and it will take more than once for her to learn.
Please be kind to your dog. Joining a moderated group such as Start Puppy Training will help you a lot - here's the link:

I found the most effective way to stop puppy biting is by ignoring them. Tapping there nose only seems to make them more boistrous and inclined to nip. Everytime she nips you, tell her no loudly and clearly and stop whatever your doing with her and remove her to a room seperate from you for 5-10mins. Dogs hate being ignored as there social animals and if done consistently with patience she'll soon get the idea that her nipping is resulting in being ignored and fun and games ending. Don't encourage her to play rough and boistrous games as this will just make the nipping worse. Good luck.

Speak firmly but not harshly and say no. Replace with a toy. Preferably something hard. If it persists keep tapping her on the nose. But mostly just remember-she is only a puppy. They don't know better and she's only 10 weeks! Also nearing teething time which will make it even more important to keep a toy nearby.

Misa M is quite right. The purpose of YOU giving a yelp is that it is the same as the mother would have done when the pups were feeding and one got over excited and nipped her. She would give a high pitched yelp and virtually throw the offending pup to one side. Never to hurt it but this relegated it to the less productive teats as all the other puppies moved up.

Good Luck with your new addition

Your puppy is going through the canine equivalent of a baby's "teething". She needs different textures to chew on to strenthen her teeth. Buy her some different "chew toys" at the pet store- & KEEP rapping her nose & telling her that biting people is NOT appropriate. She'll get the "idea" in a couple of months... Good luck! :)

because she is so young they do bite allot but it is natrul for a dog to bite , as she gets older she will learn not to bite and start to behave . in the meantime get your puppy a toy so she wont bite you.
