I want to find out what some other people think about this recent issue. Alaskan air defense recently had to escort a Russian bomber out of restricted air space when it cam too close to the RA line. Tuesday Georgian officials claimed that a Russian plane came three miles into their restricted air space before leaving. Are they probing, are they trying to find out how far/close they can get to restricted air space before being found out ? What are they doing this for. It seems strange that they have violated two different air spaces in the same week. Whats up with this ?

It's all related to the electoral politics in Russia. In 2007 there will be parliamentary elections, in 2008 - presidential elections. The ruling elite wants to scare Russians into thinking that Russia is surrounded by enemies and therefore, they must support the status quo. That's why the Kremlin wants to provoke international incidents and instability.

Actually they didn't violate alaskan air space they just flew close to it, and british air space and others also. it's really nothing new they just haven't done it in a few years because they couldn't afford the fuel. Now their economy is better they can fly again.

Coming close to a R.A. Line doesn't mean they had crossed the line or were in Restricted Airspace as you try to claim in your post!!

Georgia's claims have not been independently verified either.

So, so far no airspace has been violated they were in International airspace.

It's part of the Russian mentality - all rules are made to be broken. The Litvinenko case is a perfect illustration of this belief. The Polonium that killed him is made only in a special KGB institute. Apparently, they think it's OK to go to another country like the UK to assassinate people.
