And before you say: "you have but just havent noticed", CLEARLY that means it wasn't that big of a deal if I haven't noticed.

Moving on, I live in NYC. There are of course, illegal immigrants from every country here, but honestly, my life hasn't been affected by it. The only drug dealers I know are the people who I go to school with (who are ALL legal, white, and loaded), there are no illegal immigrants in my school, I've never had to wait at a hospital, and for the most part, all of the illegals live in one concentrated area. A lot of Spanish (and French and Hebrew especially) is spoken but I don't think anybody really minds because everything is in, if not only, English as well. Maybe its because where I live, but my life has never been affected.

READ BEFORE YOU ANSWER: THIS IS NOT TO EXCUSE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. I AM JUST WONDERING. PLEASE ANSWER HONESTLY AND RELATIVE TO THE QUESTION.

Yes a big part of the city is immigrants, however a small amount are illegal.

Plus in New York City, we pay a lot, but the salaries are also a lot higher compared to everywhere else.

Ms LA, I think the 6billion a week on the iraq war hits us harder.

Uh so i guess the amount of taxes I pay should not matter. Illegal aliens cost the taxpayers billions every year. Hospitals have closed because of them. I am sure the people in those communities are very affected by that. Since you think the tax argument is crap I am assuming that you don't pay any. Get a job and total up all the taxes you pay and it equals close to 50%. Federal, State, Local, Social Security, Medicare. I guess you think that the money the the illegals are sucking up couldn't be used for more useful purposes on actual Americans. One last thing. I have NO problem with someone coming to this country legally, learning ENGLISH, and being able to support themselves. I have read many articles from legal immigrants that waited years to come here and they are pissed about these ppl just walking in.

Well, you live in New York which is 1000 miles from the southern border and has much more whites and legal immigrants from Europe. Come to down to Texas, and you will see.

Like you, I'm 18. I personally have lived and gone to school in places that are about 15-20% white. I've gone to Wal-Mart and I was the only guy who knew English in there. I've been to McDonalds and had to use my Spanish skills just to get a Dbl. Cheeseburger Meal. I've gotten sick from eating fast food because illegals don't wash their hands. Several times after walking home from school I was nearly jumped. This may sound crazy, but we've literally had to have SWAT sit outside our school because of the violence and threats. And those instances were just the tip of the iceberg.

10 years ago, the area I lived in used to be great. If you haven't been affected by illegals(which actually are driving up taxes and depressing wages everywhere so technically you are affected) you either live in a exclusively lucrative white part of the city or you have been very lucky.

The wait at an ER room is ridiculous in the hospitals that have not closed in my area due to the fact that the illegal criminal aliens use that service as a doctor's office visit. Of course, they do not pay. Not only have my house taxes gone up to build two more grade schools and an another high school, but I cannot sell because the other single family homes around me are being occupied by four families, and, heck, unless I want to sell for less than I paid for my home, it will not sell. I, an English speaking person, is overlooked for jobs because I cannot speak Spanish. Doesn't matter that the Spanish speakers cannot speak English. On and on and on. If nothing is done, your area and life will be hit by the illegals. That is why deportation and a secure border must be done now.

Apparently you are not the only person naive enough to believe you have not been personally affected and selfish enough to believe that if you have not been affected that it is OK.

Do you have to be personally affected before you can see what to most is plain common sense? Should we legalize rape because it has not affected you? Or maybe we don't legalize it but we simply look the other way because the person was just hard up.

Basing your opinion on whether or not something has affected you is just plain short sighted and irresponsible towards your fellow Americans. The fact that you have never had to wait at a hospital doesn't mean that, at some time in the future, you won't.

Problem with bleeding heart liberals is that as long as something doesn't affect them they are all touchy feely and compassionate, but the minute it does affect them they are screaming their little heads off and wondering how this could happen to them and why hasn't the government done something about it.

The question you need to ask is not whether or not illegal immigration has affected you but could it?

How old are you? Just a kid.

5 years ago my husband had a good job and a good paycheck. then one day this guy shows up from the head office, he says he was there to increase production (there was no problem with production and the factory was making a HEFTY profit)

He starts pushing all the men to go faster, go faster. safety measures and quality didn't matter anymore. There were injuries and products being returned as defective. Finally it happened, a man was killed by one of the machines.

The plant shut down and the machines were moved to a new plant in Hazleton, PA. The company took one guy with them, a mechanic under contract to keep the machine in good running order. 2 years later this man returned, he told my husband that the factory was now operated entirely by illegals working for minimum wage, production was WAY down and quality was even worse, but it didn't matter because the workers were paid less then half what the average union workers made and the company was confident the illegals would get better with time and wouldn't require raises or insurance.

Look around at all the jobs illegals are doing, those were jobs Americans used to do, 12-20 million illegals working here... 12-20 million Americans out of a job. Those jobs didn't just magically come into existence when they crossed the border, someone did it before them and now they aren't. The American workers have families, mortgages, and children to support and are being pushed aside to save rich people a few bucks. That's just the jobs that were lost, other jobs just started paying less. The middle class is shrinking and Americans are falling into poverty, every year fewer Americans have health insurance.

If you think this trend hasn't affected you personally, you might be right, I don't know you. But I do know it has effected the majority of Americans in a big (and bad) way.

Add-
back in the 1980's and early 90's, you didn't NEED a college degree to get a good job, that's what you're not getting here. It was perfectly acceptable to get a job right out of high school, get married and start a family. Fast forward to now, America has millions of men and women in their 40's without college and the ones who DO go back to school for a degree still don't get the job because who's going to hire a 40-50 year old over a 20- year old?

Most likely. You are only 17 so you probably haven't really gotten out into the real world yet as far as working a 40 hour week to fully support yourself, pay bills, etc.I am certain that in a few years, you will have a different opinion.

yes i have been affected. many illegal immigrants cannot pay for their medical services and thus cannot pay the doctors that my mother works for. thus her paycheck is lower due to the fact that her employer is losing money. now not all of the people who cannot pay their medical bill are illegals and also i relaize that doctors do make their fare share of money but trust me the illegal immigrants are the ones with their names posted on the collections slip than legals.
also i have been affected in a positive ways too : )!!!
yep this is confussing i relaize the flaws in this statement but i am a posting it anways..

Yes it does affect you. Some illegal aliens have children here who become citizens, than they (the parents) can apply to for food stamps, welfare you name it on behalf of the kids. To me it's a big abuse of the resource which our legal citizens can use but can't because the children of illegal aliens are using it up. This means that YOUR tax dollars are paying for it. You are also paying for their abuse of social security, crossing the border, paying to deport them, etc. It all costs money, money that the taxpayer has to pay. Also, not only that, illegal aliens that reap the benefits on behalf of their citizen children are taking away from those that really need it. My mother has worked her butt off all these years, payed her taxes, etc, but cannot get medicare or medical (she has arthritis and hbp) because "she's not eligible"..so why the hell is she paying taxes? So someone who does not even have legal status can reap the benefits?...not only that they have the odasity to protest and demand legal status! ..makes me angry thinking about it. >:(

i live in California, nowhere has as many illegals as here, they don't bother me anymore than the typical legal american.

No one chooses where they are born. Why should someone born 1000+ miles away have more right to be in california than someone living only 15 miles south of california only because the one living 1000 miles away happen to be born within the man made illegitimate boundaries of the USA. Not to mention California was stolen from mexico in the first place.

Borders shouldn't exist for anything beyond demographical purposes. No amount of laws can change the fact that the earth was here first and belongs to no one equally.

They directly effect a few people only, for example when they steal SS# they are messing with that persons credit, taxes, and other issues. Overall they effect us all, because they keep wages lower, and use additonal government benefits, which take away your chances for college scholarships, tax breaks, or any other benefits the government offers such as social security.
