It disgusts me that there is so much corruption put in front of so many people these days, through TV. Sex, violence, vulgarity, disrespect, disobediance to parents, rebellion, all sorts of immorality, to name a few, are all over tv these days and taught to be ok!! People have no morals these days. Billboards are basicly porn nowadays...it's sick. Innocence and Purity are made fun of and called immaturity, when in reality they are great virtues. I can't stand it!!! Why can't anyone control themselves?? Why is it that people can blaspheme the name of Christ and feel no remorse? How can people be so promiscuious and not understand it will only bring misery and heartache???

no I am not 65 I am 17. I don't hate people who watch it, I just think that it is insane how much immorality is ignored and accepted. I don't watch tv. I am asking why you can stand to do so yourself? And I understand that not everyone is Christian, but I am asking this in the religion section.

to the answerer that said "Innocence and purity are great virtues to have, as a child" I disagree to some extent. It is just as virtuous to have them as an adult. Stand up for what is right! I am not anti-sex by the way, I just think it is something to be saved until marriage!! Get a grip people. lol.

Just to let you people know, I am not angry or particularly worried about this, I am just amazed that so many people put up with the trash the world has to offer and I am merely asking you to think about what you are looking at and what God might say about it. That's all. I'm not mad, I just want to get you to think about what you are putting into your mind and start thinking about purity for once.

So many questions. You are right, there is so much trash on TV these days. However, people have choices to either watch the trash or change the channel. TV is for entertainment and there are many, many children who sit in front of the TV for hours when they can find something else to do that is more educating. It is a shame, but majority of households have television in their homes. I think I am a decent person, I watch TV like the news, History channel, The Dog Whisperer, Shalom in the Home, and Glen Beck, but it is not an every day thing. It is all about the choices we make.
People can control themselves, but do they really want to?People that blaspheme G-d's name in vain are the ones who don't have respect. You have to understand, we are all sinners and we do make mistakes, but we go to G-d in repentance for what we have done wrong.
I think you should not worry too much about those things and do what G-d would want you to do. Hear and do.

I don't know how Jennifer...I wish I knew why I am so attracted to it. It has been my greatest struggle...It does bring heartache. For a time it provides an escape from the pain of a cruel world from mistakes you've made. It makes me turn into something I'm not. Its hard to understand unless you start actually doing it. When life has been really tough for people, when it seems like you can't get on top of things and you are very alone. than people try to replace that void in there hearts with fantacy stemmed from the tv. Stay away from tv Jennifer its the devils strongest tool, but try to understand those have been stuggling with it, its just like coffee or alchohol.

we all have a choice, and you can choose not to look at certain programmes.
TV, give people what they want, posters sell the best way they can. Sex sells, and people are human. A basic human need is sex, and since most people repress their sexual nature, a picture of a half naked person, is an outlet for them.
purity and innocence are noble virtues to have, as a child. An adult should have respect, not only for themselves, but for others around them too

Dear Enraged Woman,
Nobody says the stuff you see on TV is right. We are individuals and it is your choice to either be a good person or copy what you see on TV. I don't get heartache when I watch TV I figure if these people want to make a sses of themselves then fine I really could care less cause when I watch it I know it's not going to effect me because I know better then to copy what I see. It's all entertainment lady relax!

That's why Armageddon is going to come soon. The world is too wicked. It is lying in the power of the wicked one. I don't watch much TV. Maybe the judges or a few games shows. And some of the Detective shows. The rest is scary. Even the commercials.
TV.

Well my parents are 77 & 63, both christians and neither have ever said they've seen even half of what you perceive to have seen. I think some of it is in the eye of the beholder.
Personally, other than CSI, PBS, sports, Discovery, The History Channel and TLC, most television is boring.

I hate TV myself, but not for your reasons.
Sex is natural, violence can be avoided, vulgarity is a creation of people looking to be offended, respect is only given to those that deserve it, disobedience isn;t always a bad thing, nor is rebellion, immorality is open to interpretation, to reply to a few.

If one chooses to be obedient to God, there is much on tv one cannot watch. I think the best thing to do is selectively borrow/purchase dvds and videos that don't go against God's teachings. There are many good Christian videos.

Surely, your remote has an "off" button. I'm a churchgoer, and I watch TV on occasion. I don't believe in going through life with blinders on, nor am I a prude. I'm far more concerned with global violence than about a bit of skin showing on a TV screen. If something offends you, then walk away from it like a sane adult.
