Now.... "what's a catamite" .... well as far as I can figure a Catomite is word with latin origin that means the younger partner in a pederastic relationship between two males. This strikes a particular discord with me ... That is, a Catomite refers exclusively to a victim of pedophilia ... but more interestingly Paul does not condemn the adult perpetrator in this text ... he condemns the adolescent victim!
So, Christians please explain the morality of this to me 'cause I need to know. Thanks {{Dr G}} ~ I have read your earlier reply so you need not bother this time.

sodomites are the ones committing the act. a child is an innocent victim. Jesus said that it is better that a man has a millstone tied about his neck and to be cast into the sea than for him to offend one of these little ones. if Jesus felt that strongly about it, i would hate to see the wrath that falls on those that have hurt and destroyed little children. I have not looked up the word catamite, but if that word was in a footnote and not in the actual scripture, then no one should add or take away from the word... That is like saying a rape victim is more guilty than the rapist. That goes against the very character of God. Jesus also said suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for such is the kingdom of Heaven. Now if a child that has been a victim grows up and victimizes other children then he or she will have to give an account for their own actions.

Does the younger partner recognize that what he is doing is wrong? If he has the capacity to know this prior to the "relationship," then yes he is liable sin is sin. If he is not...say like he was brainwashed...then I don't believe so. But I do know that a man seeking after a young man for relations he will be judged. God is very particular about kids. There are scriptures in the Bible that speak to the wrongdoings towards kids. He said that person may as well hang a millstone around their neck! I'm paraphrasing. These kids have many angels surrounding them.
Now I'm sorry but in my bible 1 Corinthians 6:9 speaks about christians should not sue other christians...so I have not idea where you get your info from...I trust my bible and mines alone....
Finally a christian cannot deny anyone access to anything. God is the man with the masterplan. He is the one who judges....so I think you are trying to attack Christians which from where I am standing your logic is faulty....Christians merely tell you what the Word says....You are trying to figure out something that obviously was not meant for you to figure out.

I am agnositc, however I recognize you've misunderstood and misinterpreted this scripture.
The Bible says "homosexuals" which means people who willingly engage in homosexuality; not victims of rape nor sexual abuse. By making this reference to "catamites" the Bible is including those boys who willingly took part of this ancient Rome custom; this does not mean young boys who were tied up and raped.

The fact is, pedophiles do repent and the minor victims are not held responsible for the fact that they cannot fight back.
Children are not held accountable for their sins until a certain age.
I am guessing that if he truly is referring to the younger victim, he means a willing partner. It was very common in those days and our definition of a child has changed DRASTICALLY over the years. My grandmother was a mother by the time she was 15 and that was common then, now 15 is a "child" with no mind of their own.

First -- Christians do not believe that a victim of a sexual crime would go to hell.
Now here is the definition of Catomite:
catamite - a boy who submits to a sexual relationship with a man (that means someone who made the choice to be in the relationship)
If you study more deeply, you will find that in bible times one was considered a child or boy until there 30's. Also -- I may suggest that you go to the original Latin text and study from there. Usually someone at an area church of Christ could assist you in finding someone with knowledge of Latin if you yourself haven't studied Latin.

Neither 1 Cor 6:9 nor any other scripture condemn victims of pedophilia or rape.
The greek word here is "malakos" (#3120 in Strong's Lexicon), which means "shows softness" as compared to "masculine" or "being hard". The implication is "man who takes the role of a female in a sexual act". (It is called as "effeminate" which means make-female-of-oneself).
We cannot say a victim of pedophilia is voluntarily doing it!
A rape victim or victim of pedophilia is sinner victim in a murder is also a sinner! ALL THE MARTYRS WERE VICTIMS OF MURDER, will they also be denied entry into Kingdom of God?

... a lot of that is - weird..... i personally believe that everyone will get to go to heaven, but some will have to wait longer than others... very few people in this earth truly truly deserve to go to Hell, eternal torment, becuase of what they did in a few years on earth. also, that (and a lot of other things, like all those questions about stoning adulteresses) was written for a specific culture, a specific time period- a lot of things simply could not be said. also a lot of other gods had gay sex as part of their worship, so that might have been a way to make sure early christians didn't do any of that.
Finally:
Christians can not deny people access to Heaven. only God can do that.

The child has committed no sin. Rape is not held against the victim.

A Catomite was a slave who participated in homosexual activity with their masters.
This is one reason that I do not accept that homosexuality is wrong. But was an opinion by the author of the books of the Bible where it is mentioned.
A child forced to have sex should never be held accountable!

pederasts: male adults who sexually abuse boys; an abusive pedophile (an adult who molests young children) or abusive hebephile (an adult who molests post-pubertal teenagers).
Though I understand your difficuly, you need to look into the Greek word arsenokoitai for context of the writing. It does not condemn rape victims.
