My friend (platonic) talks to me about his problems sometimes. Him and his girl have been together for a number of years. He cheats on her often, he is into orgies and all that, but he babysits her kids for her, and they spend time together. I think she may pay his bills too, but I dont know.

Anyway, what does it mean when he says "the single life is better" and he tells us that "he is glad when they argue (they argue A LOT) because that means he can be like "oh, I'm outta here" and go party and spend time with other girls.

He's been my friend since 11th grade (we're college now), so I dont wanna look at him in disgust but dam,

Whats up with that?

I would say ask your friend because I doubt that you're going to find many guys who are like him.

I do agree with him that being single is great but the rest of what you wrote I can't really identify with.

First of all...can I just say that slipping in the "orgies" bit was absolutely hysterical. I literally fell on the floor in laughter.

Anyways, it's pretty simple-- breaking up is the hardest thing to do. I find that guys will typically engage in erratic and destructive behavior when they want out of a relationship, whereas women stick closer to their morals and are more conducive as far as "talking it out".

Your boy's got problems though. I mean, I've been where he is...and I'm honest enough with myself to know that I had (have) problems as well, but he needs to get his *** kicked. Not necessarily in the physical sense, but his heart needs a good breaking. The best thing that could happen to him is his girlfriend catching him f*cking up....that'll put his actions into perspective and cause him to grow up a little.

All men are not like your friend.

To be blunt your friend is an immature, selfish pig. He hangs out with one girl to have some cash and stability and a sense of what love is, by he screws around for immediate gratification.

Your friend will hit bottom sometime, but he is on a bad path in his life and he will find no joy or fulfillment.

Be honest with your friend whether he wants to hear it or not.

Good luck.

Many couples around the world, live in the same way. They have many opposite behaviour, thinking, etc;but they are still together because, the things they have in common are stronger than anything. It is weird, yes, but that is life and love for some couples.Good question.

HE DOESNT LOVE HER, BUT HE IS USING HER AS A FREE RIDE. ALOT OF MEN DO THIS, WHERE ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE PUT OUT AND THE WOMAN GIVES HIM A PLACE TO LIVE, PAYS HIS BILLS AND OTHER STUFF. THEY ARE TOO LAZY TO ACTUALLY BE A MAN AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN BUSINESS.

Women are like jobs. A smart man won't quit the one he's got until he finds a better one.

Hes attached to her.. and he probably doesn't want to hurt her. It's the same reason everyone stays when they are not happy.

Your 'friend' is a player and he's using her for her money. Why should he leave when he's got it so good?
