My 2 year old daughter just turned 2 on july 22nd, she has been able to count to 20 in english and 10 in irish since before then she knows her colors and can have a conversation with you about almost anything. she sings along to every single barney song and alot of other children songs she knows body parts, clothes and how do to simple tasks like sit down, or walk slowly or phrases like do you want to go to the store in the irish language. she even sings along to the likes of 50cent, eminem and akon and i am talking about the full song not just words here or there? is this normal or she is smart ?

Well, she sounds like she is really verbal- which is good. But, have you listened to the lyrics of 50 cent? That is not appropriate for a child her age AT ALL. You should be reading to her more. Being smart at 2 years old is not really a big deal, if she doesn't get a good education it will mean nothing when she is 20- so keep up with the education! (and cut out the adult lyrics) : )

With the right education- she could be the next president!!

my granddaughter is like this- she potty trained herself at 16 months and spoke in sentences and understood what was being said to her. They moved her to the 2 yr room then as there was no toilet in the baby room. By her 2nd BD they put her in the 3 yr old room. By 2/12 she was reciting all the hebrew blessings we say for meals and bedtime and sings all the hebrew songs in synagogue. She just turned 3 and is still extremely precocious and verbal. She definitely keeps up with 5 yr olds she is around. But, honestly, don't justify the lyrics of the rap "artists" you're letting her listen to- there is fabulous music that is much more appropriate that she would enjoy.

She sounds like a smart little girl whose mommy has worked with to help her learn things. Way to go!

If you're asking if she's gifted or genius level, once she gets in school, it will become apparent.

i've done daycare for many many years and sounds to me like she is right on track...most of my two year olds could do exactly the same things, with the exception of one....the only problem i forsee is that she will become bored with school...Ryan is now in the first grade and is reading at a fifth grade level by the time he was three he was reading berenstain bears books to me...so he has lost some interest at school...keep it fun and keep them interested...but don't force it...

She sounds smart to me, but I would not let her listen to 50cent or Eminem they have bad language in their lyrics. Just my opinion.

sounds to me like you just may have a genius on your hands.
Just keep giving her more knowledge and she will grasp it all like no other can.
Get her into playing a musical instrument like piano or what ever interests her.
Keep her mind growing, or she will get bored.
Congrat's on the smarty. Good luck!

I would say that she is very gifted, and probably use it to your advantage, adult learning is a lot harder if not kept up, adults can forget what they learn with in 3 months, what you learn as a child stays. it may time alto of your time but I would try encourage it.
