Do you feel that Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron are giving Christians a bad name?

for example:
Their banana and watchmaker and crocoduck garbage is UNDENIABLE evidence that the theory of evolution is a farce according to those two. Then seeing any semi-intelligent person find fault in their claims.

fireball- I know you hate links so here goes my summary-

Kirk and Ray were the inventors of the "banana" argument- stating that bananas are proof of creation because they fit in a human hand and are the perfect shape to fit in the mouth (without recogising the 8000 years of selective breeding done by humans to change plaintains to the modern yellow seedless fruit we have today). Basically making claims without knowing whether they can be backed up or not.

using the banana rationale...then masturbation is perfect evidence that it is a gift from God...why else would our hand fit there so easily?

YES, THEY ARE. They are an embarrassment to say the very least.
Not only that, but ya know those "left behind" books? They infuriate me to no end.
They tell people that whatever we do, my God, we don't wanna be left behind.
Well, I've got sorry news for them and anyone who believes their garbage:
In Scripture, where you read of two grinding at the mill, or two working in the field, one is taken and the other left? If you back up to capture the subject and object of what is being discussed, you will find that the subject is that Antichrist comes FIRST before ANY gathering back to Christ occurs for any reason. What does that mean?
IT MEANS YOU WANT TO BE THE ONE LEFT BEHIND!!! The ones taken, are taken by Antichrist in deceit. These are those who believe the first jesus on the scene is come to rapture them outta here.
The first one coming is Antichrist. Its clearly written all thru Scripture, yet people choose to believe Kirk Cameron rather than to listen to the simplicity in which God taught in his Word. Its dispicable. And, they are
gonna be deceived by that fake thinking he
is the true Christ, and they will, along with the mass majority of Churches, be falling all over each other to worship and serve the fake. Antichrist comes on the 6th trump;
Christ does not return until the 7th trump:
Can't people even count anymore?
When the true Christ returns, what does he find? He finds his spiritual bride (no gender intended) in bed with the wrong husband, thats what. And he ain't gonna be happy.
There they will be - a bunch of devil worshippers. These are those who Christ in Mark 13 calls "harvested out of season".
In fact, Mark 13 is where Christ gives you a chronological order of events that lead up to the return of the true Christ. No where in that list will you find any indication that any portion of the population will be missing, gone, raptured, or anything else.
Read the parable of the bride and the bridegroom. Many of them had enough oil to make it up to the very last hour - the oil is symbolic of the truth of Gods Word - but then even though they were God loving, and wanted to be part of the spiritual bride of Christ, many got to that final hour and what happened? They didn't have quite enough of that truth to make it, and by the time they went out and got some, it was too late.
Now these were good, Jesus-loving, Church going Christians. But when it came to the very end, and Antichrist came, they didn't have enough truth to know that the fake comes first, so they were deceived.
They thought he was the true Christ, and
KIRK CAMERON is helping to make it true when God says the mass majority of Christians will be deceived. Those books
are making people listen to him instead of to the truth. He is literally stealing the oil of truth away from millions of people, and I assure you God has a special place just
for him. He will be one of those who will hide and wish for death rather than to face the true Christ. And well he should.
Interesting, that the only ones who will be able to escape the mark of the beast are simply those who care enough to study the Word of God and listen to Him rather than to man. Kirk Cameron may as well hold hands with Satan and skip down the path
to hell with him. As a person he rates mediocre, but as a Christian he doesn't rate at all.

I never heard of Ray Comfort.

Kirk Cameron is a riot. I saw him talking to some gang bangers in Venice Beach. THAT was hilarious.

If Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron are indeed true Christians they need to re-think their evangelizing methods. I myself think it is unwise to try to win people over to belief in Jesus Christ by disproving evolution, scaring people out of not wanting to go to hell, and telling people to "not be left behind" after the fictional Rapture. Jesus said to preach about his death, burrial and ressurection. We are to preach how we can have a better life through faith in Jesus Christ. I would never use the crocoduck and left behind nonsense arguements. It is truely a crock....LOL.

Errr, ummm, no comment.

Did you know that Kirk Cameron has 10 kids or something? Now that is an example of divine headship!

I applaud them for at least trying, but just as Christians will never be able to prove to anyone that God does exist, athiests will likewise never be able to prove that He doesn't.

This whole belief vs. nonbelief argument so popular on this website is nothing more than one person trying to convince everyone else of their "intelligence."

The truth is that none of us will have proof until after we're dead.

But given the choice between following a benevolent God who teaches us to support and love one another, and not believing in him, throw me in the boat with the former, if you please.

Everybody on TBN is a false prophet.

Anyway Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron teach a false gospel of works, by over-emphasizing "repentance" before believing unto salvation. We're saved by believing that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins and rose again. We're not saved by "repentance" from sin.

I also don't believe in evolution.

No. I don't think they give Christians a bad name. They at least go out and talk to people, and arent afraid to tell people about Jesus. They certainly have their own way, I'll give them that, but if they can get through to people by what they do, then, I say good for them! If other Christians are sitting back and complaining about them, then, maybe they should go out and show them how it's done! God Bless them for being on fire for Jesus!

No, honestly I don't.
And if you really wanted to know that watchmaker thing has been around way before they have been. I forget the book, but had an apologetics course that I took and the teacher mentioned the book.

I feel that they are not giving Christians a bad name. They are actually being Christians. They at least have the guts to speak up for their beliefs. And the theory of evolution is a farce. Darwin disbelieved himself before he died. I guess I'm not very intelligent as you would think, but I find no fault in their claims!
