Some chewing gums are recommended by dentists especially those that are sugarfree. It helps regulate the salivary glands making them more functional. But not make chewing bubble gums your daily habit. It would still be harmful if you chew a lot. In case of gum problems, you may use OraMD for your at-home oral health maintenance.

From the question itself, I can tell that you realize it's unhealthy! As a matter of fact, when I was in highschool there was this apple flavor gum, I just loved it but the flavor always ran out very fast. I basically became addicted to it and chewed like 2-3 packs every day. After a year or so of having this habit, I woke up one day with an awful stomach ache, took almost a week until all the tests were done so I could get the appropriate treatment. At only 17 years old I was diagnosed with stomach ulcer. Since then, the days of coke & gum are over. Of course I still eat gum sometimes, and coke when I feel like it, but not in excess. You should consider the full impact these things can have on you, even if the effects won't appear after a few days. Hope this helps, all the best!

No, I chew gum all the time. It freshens your breath, cleans your teeth and it keeps your jaws active. It's much better than having smelly breath! But just make sure it's sugar-free gum like trident orbit stride, anything minty like that. Bubalicious gum or any other type of "bubble gum" has a lot of sugar in it, which is very bad for your teeth. If you do chew gum that has sugar in it, just switch to sugarless gum, and you won't notice a change at all, it is just much better for you.

It can be bad for your teeth if you chew the kind that isn't sugar-free. Obviously because of the sugar and cavities. And, it can be bad if you have problems with your jaws, like TMJ, it can cause you some pain. That is the only thing two things that I know of.

BTW...just a little bit of info...you can swallow gum. It won't stick to your intestines or your stomach. It passes through your stool. Do I suggest it...NO. Just thought you might like to know that. He he.

Chewing gum is okay, just select the sugarless gums. Try orbit or trident brands.

Probably not if it's sugar free so that there's not sugar on your teeth all the time. But then there is the cancer aspect...they say the stuff in sugar free gum causes it. Hmmm. Yeah I guess it is bad...
