Resist the urge to share your information at school or with friends on line or on the phone. Teachers probably know; the teachers' lounge is better for gossip than the beauty parlor. They don't want to say anything to the kids because it's unsettled and the district probably has policies for dealing with tragedies that affect students.
If you have to talk to someone try a parent, other relative, even a minister. If you don't have one, you can still call one out of the phone book who will listen--just tell him or her that your teacher is the missing child's aunt (uncle?) and that it's bothering you.

By today you should know for sure, and others should know. If it's true, I'm sorry. Dealing with the death of a child is especially difficult. Please know that I believe the child is Soul and lives on, survives the body. Even though it is difficult for us to understand, God loves that Soul, as God loves us all. Your teacher's nephew is in the arms of God, as are we all. May the Blessings Be

Wow, ruff one. I use to live in Topeka a few years ago, but have moved I have heard nothing of the incident. You should just steer clear of telling you teacher, unless you are close. Family should notify him/her of this. Best of luck.

I think it is best if you keep your mouth shut about it. You don't want to be drug into the middle of a sticky situation like this, also you don't want your teacher thinking you are spreading rumors about her nephew.
