In order to understand the Truth of the Bible, you must have the right attitude, the right heart condition, and be willing to take the time to search for the Truth. Then Jehovah will draw you to Jesus Christ, in other words it is the Holy Spirit that allows one to come to know the True God, his Son, and his purpose for mankind.
People don't know or don't understand Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs. Why? "They do not have Jehovah's Holy Spirit."
The correct identification of the holy spirit must fit all the scriptures that refer to that spirit. With this viewpoint, it is logical to conclude that the holy spirit is the active force of God. It is not a person but is a powerful force that God causes to emanate from himself to accomplish his holy will.
Simply attending Christian meetings with your parents is not enough. “It’s easy just to go to meetings,” “because your parents tell you to do so." But when people asked me questions about the Bible, I didn’t know how to explain myself.” “We have to prove to ourselves that this is the truth.”
While all religions claim to offer reliable guidance about serving God, their ideas differ. They teach many different things about who God is and what he expects of us. Think about this: Suppose you got a job with a big company. On the first day of work, you learn that the boss is away on leave. So you ask three workers what you should do. The first worker says that the boss wants you to sweep the floor. The second says that you should paint the building. The third tells you to distribute the mail.
Next, you ask the workers about the boss. The first says that the boss is tall, young, and harsh. The second says that he is short, old, and kind. The third tells you that the boss is not a man at all, the boss is a woman. Likely, you conclude that the three workers are not all telling the truth. If you want to keep your new job, you will probably do some checking to find out who the boss really is and what he or she wants you to do.
It is the same with religion. Because there are so many ideas about who God is and what he requires of us, we need to make sure that our way of worship is in harmony with the truth. This is why the Holy Spirit, Search, & Study is important.

Anyone who automatically parrots the often quoted catchphrase "CULT" when describing the Jehovah's Witnesses clearly have NO idea what they are talking about and are truly ignorant of JWs in general.
A CULT is "a religion considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader." -Random House Unabridged Dictionary
Yet the standard for what is orthodox, however, should be God's Word, and Jehovah's Witnesses strictly adhere to the Bible. Their worship is a way of life, NOT a ritual devotion. They NEITHER follow a human NOR isolate themselves from the rest of society. They live and work in the midst of other people.
Learn the truth about JWs from themselves, and not the misconceptions that are being told about them at Y/A:

First, Christmas was placed on Dec 25th to compete with the Pagan holiday Yule, we didn't pass it on. Different branches though and sets celebrate it at different times (in Africa it's often on Jan 6th).
Second, every day people are born and people die, doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate brithdays but that's their right. I know a few strict Atheist's who don't, and all I can say is that their children didn't appreciate it, I'm sure though others are fine with it.
Third, when it comes to medical decisions religion should but out, if it'll save a life I say do it. When it comes to a child they don't get a say, and the law isn't quick when it comes to stepping in, so forgive me if I think it's horrifying to deny what can be a live saving procedure because of a religious belief (and why yes I am attempting to become a doctor).
Fourth, yes some of them are nice I'm sure, unfortunately my parents have only dealt with very upsetting and distressing tactics to get money, not to convert, to get cash. They're not coming with scripture at my parents' house, they've been coming demanding money and using children and adults who are disabled and handicapped as emotional blackmail, and not once or twice, A LOT.
I will repeat myself one last time, I have no views, I don't know any personally and haven't had an encounter in years, however from looking at my parents' experience while I was a child I can understand why some people do have a problem with JWs.
Now kindly move on to something else.

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.
However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Honestly, while I apprietiate the effort you seem to be showing this seems to be more of a speech for 360. If you go to http://www.360.yahoo.com you can set up your own 360 account to give your opinions.
In answer to the question of Why people don't understand our beliefs, often it seems to be because they learn about them from non Witnesses who don't know us better than they do, if that made sense:D
Example, one little boy on a school bus explained that his friend could only get gifts in paper bags cause he was a Witness, and that is how Witnesses do it. When asked why he thought that, the little boy explained that he saw a thing about Micheal Jackson that said it, so it must be true.

no longer plenty that Jesus is the Messiah truly as he's the guy that mows the backyard and blows the leaves off the temple sidewalk. We have self assurance that television's Kirk Cameron is the only authentic Messiah. Bow down and worship him or continuously burn!

babie_gurl,
In Christendom, Jehovah's Witness is a cult. I know that may be hard to swallow . . . if you were raised as one then it will be a shock . . . but I got 'in' a cult myself, and got out! You can be brave enough to "look" with your own eyes!
It is considered a cult because they have their own Bible . . . it is not the same one everyone else has . . . important stuff has been changed . . . all the 'cult' stuff stem from these 'additions' and just bad understanding of the stuff the Bible does say . . .
I suggest you find a local Church that teaches the Bible. This is all I can say . . . all the other stuff is too detailed for this forum . . . all that stuff you spoke about? in your 'question'? there is no way to address all that, here. But if you studied the Bible the rest of us study, you would begin to see.
You might try reading a book by someone who came 'out' of the Jehovah's Witness . . . what could it hurt? I'm sure you can find one on-line.
God Bless

JW's are a cult, they aren't saved, and they have false doctrine from top to bottom. That's the reality of them. They need to depart from JW land and get saved by Jesus, who is God.
