I have history of anxiety but in the past 2 weeks i have been having anxiety attacks almost every day - they feel like asthma - like I am not getting enough air and next day my whole chest hurts and i cant swallow because of it.
Peppermint, chamomile, st Johns worth are not working as well as exercising (i do it all the time anyway).
I dont want to go to the doctor -its just too expensive (in the past i had to pay over 400$ a month for visit to get prescription and pills for that month)

I know what causes them in general but there is no way i can avoid it.
I try breathing, sitting straight and relaxing when it happens and it only seems to make things worse.

Up your dose of St. Johns and expect a two to three weeks wait minimum for stabilization. You can double the dose on the bottle for two or three days to get a head start-it won't hurt you, it's a plant remember. Women take longer then men to adjust. Don't skip doses and only use brand name products. Adjust the dosage in a couple of months as needed, but don't skip or you will be right back where you started. It takes years to adjust to having a balance with stress and St. John's just helps with that like regular anti-depressants (but without all the side effects)
Also, figure out what gives you the worst anxiety and find a way to minimize it's impact on your life.

Try Kava root "as needed" on really bad days. Do not exceed the recommend dose by much on this stuff though.

Last year, I used to get panic attacks. I didn't want to get prescriptions for that.

So I just focused on what was making have those panic attacks which was fear of death. Now, I know it's part of life and you just have to deal with it so I don't have panic attacks no more.

But I still have anxieties. It's not worst like panic attacks I used to have where I felt like not getting enough air and my chest was hurting.

So, yeah focus on what's making you have those attacks? are you scared of something?

I have tried all of the suggested natural remedies, and none of them ever did any good. The only thing that helped me are tranquilizers prescribed by a physician. Panic attacks are serious and should not be treated lightly. If it has continued for more than a couple of weeks, he should seek professional care.

Try the book "Mastery of your Anxiety and Panic". Really good workbook that makes you realise what causes your panic attacks and how to worl through them.

I find that my panic attacks are the worst when I don't eat well and have little sleep.

Yoga and deep breathing might help you learn how to breathe so you don't feel like you're having an asthma attack.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

The product Serenity is great. There is a link to it below and also a link to some research about it.

I suffer from panic attacks so I have learned what works the hard way. Hang in there - I hope you find something that helps.
