No. Not at all. Flip flops are not good on bad feet. People who have unattractive feet should not wear them in public ever! Just because flip flops are sold almost everywhere does not mean ugly feet shoppers should buy them. I wish there was a restriction . Maybe a "Flip-Flop Approval Stamp"
Toe Jam, Sand Paper Heels are just a few that would definitely not get the okay. Thick crusty toe nails would not be allowed. It is just gross. Don't people that have "Eww" feet know? How about flip flop police the issue citations for offenders? Maybe that would enlighten some people that are oblivious to the grossness of it.

Flip flops are for casual wear, and NOT appropriate everywhere. Over time, we have become more and more lax about our appearance - wearing pj bottoms out, flip flops everywhere. There was a time when people got "dressed" to go out of the house. Men wore ties and took off their hats indoors. Women wore heels and skirts. Now, casual is not a bad thing, but it can be taken too far. No flip flops are not for anywhere but CASUAL situations.

Flip flops *lead* to food problems, with the lack of foot protection and support.
They are not appropriate in any real walking, hiking, playing situation. And they can fall off your feet at amusement parks.
Lastly, they are unequivocally casual, so not appropriate for any kind of dress code besides "extremely casual."

Though this matters little, and a lot of people will laugh at how Australians call them "thongs," but my belief is that if ever i hear someone come up to the front door wearing thongs, there is not a chance in hell will I ever open the door to them, let alone let them inside.
You can wear anything you want around my place, but if someone does the dreaded :pop-in" or wear thongs, then that front door stays locked in my opinion!

I like them in the summer, but I keep my feet well pedicured. My momther never even paints her toenails, and I personally think that it's disgusting to see people with gross feet in flip-flops.

In theory, I am supposed to wear them to the shower (I live on an Army base). I don't. I hate them and the stupid "flip flop" sound they make.
Now if they were silent, then their fundamental crappiness as shoes would only be the wearer's business.

Might be awkward...especially with people like me tripping every few steps:) (I have to have a heel strap or I will literally slip out of my shoes and then trip. It has happened before!)
