We're going through a lot of household changes (got rid of our big dog, painting rooms, moving things around) to prepare for our first child due in a few months, and coincidentally, at the same time our dog has decided she doesn't really like to eat. Could it be that she's stressed out by all the changes?

It is possible but it could also be something else. remember chis can have hypoglycemia so not eating could be a health problem

There is a possibility that it is stressed related. However if the dog is still living in the same home then most likely she is feeling lonely cuz her friend is gone and changes are being made around the house. Also many dogs it less during the summer because of the heat, your dog maybe eating less because of the change in weather. Also the combination of weather, buddy gone and changes that are being made. I hope she can adjust just give it time.

Yes, it is probably the stress. Chihuahuas are such finicky little creatures. They don't like change and get stressed easily. Just try to give her as much attention as you can. Offer her food out of your hand. Spoil her a bit. Chihuahuas are bred to be spoiled...lol If she is a tiny chi she could get hypoglycemic from not eating. Go to the petstore or vet and get a tube of NUTRICAL. It will help give her the vitamins, minerals and calories she needs. It also helps to stimulate her appetite.

it could be that she may miss the dog you got rid of or with all the things you are doing you may not have been giving her as much attention as shes used to...try cuddling/playing with her for awhile then try feeding her
