When it is a situation their own government has provoked ??? Theoretically, every Latin American person should get a part of what has been stolen from their countries throughout the years. Big American corporations along with organizations such as the CIA are responsible for draining and controlling all of Latin America's economy. So stop whining and pay your debt.

I disagree.

It is true that Latin America has been exploited by the US and has been manipulated by the US. It is true that transnational corporations exploit people in Latin America and cause harm to their economies and ecologies.

And it is true that Latin American politicians and the rich and powerful who benefit from corruption and exploitation of their people are in this too and they make it possible.

And it is true that Americans have a right to complain about illegal immigration because they have a right to say what they think.

are we looking at the same thing? yes it was wrong of the americans of the time to try to have a war to get the land, but there were also purchases so there was money given to mexico in EXCHANGE for the land. we can't control the past and the U.S. does not control mexico so get over the past. it wouldn't exactly be a pleasure to the mexican government to have a million americans or people from some other country rushing in to be a citizen without legal participation or rule. mexico was even making people have their birth certificate to go in and out of mexico to prove that they were american citizens yet they encourage their people to go to america illigally to have them send back american money to mexico, not putting it back in the american currency system. i have nothing against immigration as long as the people are doing it legally and fairly because think of all the people who fairly went through the same system when they could have done it illegally. our government isn't even doing anything to prevent this so dont complain about the american goverment taking control of mexico when they cant even control their own country right.

Our government doesn't control the corporations overseas dealings. It doesn't have the jurisdiction. It's the latin american countries that have let the corporations in. Just look at what Chavez is doing now.

First, by your "logic" any business done with foreign companies amounts to theft. So clearly we need refunded for the "theft" resulting from everything we import from that part of the world.

Then, of course, we can move to the REAL theft. Like those countries borrowing billions upon billions from US funded banking institutions with no intention of ever paying it back.

Or the waves of criminals who flood into our country from there with the intention of stealing the American taxpayer and worker blind.

what stolen land? Mexico had tried to steal land for so many years, Tex, NM, Ariz, Cali.... but u didnt suceed... as being a Native American ... it was stolen from us.. but we dont go crying about it..just happy we have been taught a better MODERN lifestyle.... which you all down there need to do.. improve your own country and take care of it. WE as AMERICANS shouldn't have to pay a debt!! If it wasn't burdened on us in the first place, we wouldn't complain about it!! The reason we complain is because our hard EARNED money is being foolishly spent on something that shouldn't even be an occuring problem!!! We should be spending money on useful things that will benefit US! Like cancer researches, education, money for schools, etc.!! If people would abide by the laws we wouldn't be complaining!!

Citizens have a right to 'complain' about foreign nationals invading thier country. Actually, technically, they have the right to shoot them - but, here in America, we tend to just complain instead of taking action.
