some people are so rude. why in the world would it ever be too late to marry someone i love whether we had a baby 3 years ago are not. thats totally irrelevant to my question, and you have no idea what has gone on in my life concerning my family as to why we aren't married yet. get a life of your own and don't say anything if you have nothing nice to say.

I suggest reading it to him before the ceremony, and explain to him what it means, it will show him that love is above all and your love for him and for eachother and your love for God rules over all things. Congrats on your wedding!!

1 Corinthians 13 4-13

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or his children begging for bread.

—Psalm 37:25

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

—Psalm 127:3-5

Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

—Psalm 139:16

A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother.

—Proverbs 10:1
Proverbs 17:6
6 Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their fathers.

—Proverbs 17:6
Proverbs 17:21
21 He who sires a fool gets himself sorrow,
and the father of a fool has no joy.

Proverbs 17:25
25 A foolish son is a grief to his father
and bitterness to her who bore him.

—Proverbs 17:21, 25
Proverbs 20:7
7 The righteous who walks in his integrity—
blessed are his children after him!

—Proverbs 20:7
Proverbs 22:6
6 Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.

—Proverbs 22:6
Isaiah 54:13
13 All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
and great shall be the peace of your children.

Deuteronomy 7:13
"He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock, in the land which He swore to your forefathers to give you.

1 Peter 3:7Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
8Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Ecc.4:9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
10 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
A cord of three strands is not easily broken!

Look in your concordence under love and children, there is alot there. It might also be a neat time to present your son with a small, meaningful gift.

How about a verse that involves the duties between parents and kids, I am sure that is what you are aiming for..not Psalms -it is talking about the children of GOD..

Try 1 & 2 Timothy for verses regarding parents and children, and also maybe Galatians, but definitely Timothy. Sorry, I don't have a Bible right in front of me and I don't trust online versions...

And I think what you are doing is lovely :)

I agree with using Corinthians 13 - for it totally is appropriate for a family, not only a couple.
Good luck to you, and congrats!
