I don't know do Atheists think by throwing the word knowledge around it will make their opinions seem any better informed.
What's the point of this type of question. Welcome to humanity no one has cornered the market on hate.
This kind of baiting irritates me to no end.

As opposed to what?
We use the word love a lot because that is what we are called to do in our religion. The fact that not all do love or love all the time is part of our fallen human nature.
Now contrast the hateful actions you see Christians do with what non-Christians do. You can still see a lot of hate out there, unfortunately, from all quarters. Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Atheist, Humanist, whatever, we all have the stains of evil acts on our hands. But is that part of what we are supposed to be like? Is it proper in Islam to hate non-muslims? Is it proper for Atheists to repress ans wipe out Deists?
On balance, I think you will find many more acts of love done in the name of God then not. I am sure other faiths can say the same when I mention that a lot of hospitals, orphanages, schools, emergancy services, and soup kitchens have been started and continue to run as a result of Christians living the sort of loving life we are called to.

Me being a Christian, NO! I don't think it does. You can't teach an old dog new tricks, which means you can't change the attitude of people if they have been rude all their lives. Some of my fellow Christians, well I pray for them. They say they are Christians, but I beg to differ. *shaking head right and left in shame* This is the reason why Christians get such a bad name. I'm wanting to change that, hopefully, by being a good person to everyone. There is no such thing as a 'true Christian'. If their was maybe this world would be a little if not a lot better.

Stereotyping Christians as hate mongers under a guise of love is simply incorrect.
We are susceptible to mistakes just like anyone else...and we are to ask for forgiveness when we do make them, but how we are to live is very clear:
Matthew 22:36-40
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
There are things we are not permitted to do, and we truly desire to change, and not live the way we once did. We are not to condemn others for doing the same things we once did when we were not Christians...and even some of the things we may still do in a weak moment. We cannot however condone or promote or compromise our faith by allowing or accepting as right, what God makes clear is wrong.
If you think this implies hatred towards a "person," you are simply misunderstanding the Gift that Christ gives to us. None of us deserve to be forgiven for our sins against God, and we cannot earn it. It is a gift of pardon, freely given to those who believe that Christ is their Lord and Savior, and that He died for them.
This means that if we are given a gift freely and did not earn it...how can we even begin to think we are any better than anyone else on the planet...even a rapist or even Hitler...all sinned against God...some more and some less, but the penalty of sin is death...and by faith in Jesus we are forgiven. Any can be forgiven if they put their hope in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
So you see, we are no more deserving, and no better than any other person God created. We are to love, and forgive, because we were loved and forgiven by God for our sins...it's why we desire to share this Gospel (good news) of Christ with any who will listen.
Take Care and God Bless you

People can 'think' they are getting away with acting hateful. But nothing can be concealed from G-d, He knows what is in the heart, mind, and soul; of every person on this planet.

Sadly -some- Christians think it's all about words, not deeds. They follow political and religious leaders based on things they say, but they don't examine their leaders' actions to see how they actually behave. Some Christian leaders don't even -talk- love! Or at least their definition of 'love' is very different from mine.
But, as I always say in posts like this, this is not a Christian thing, it's human nature. And it's not -all- Christians, though sometimes it seems like a 'critical mass'. I know other Christians who I think 'get it'.

I guess that's one of those things that you can try to trick yourself into believing, but it never really works.
Love is something real, and so is hate. A true Christian would probably know that we can still have problems with hating or being hateful. It's something we have to pray about--that God would help us to love rather than hate.

Do skeptics believe that if they tear down enough straw men it will conceal their lies?
Come on! Most of the questions by skeptics are not honest questions at all, like "Do you close the curtains before you sexually abuse your children?" I've seen more atheists ask that KIND of question about God and the Bible than any real, honest, legitimate questions trying to learn what Christians believe about this or that!
So, who are you REALLY pointing your finger at???
Oh, by the way, a question for coelus003: Why are you so sure it's all a lie? Are you so eternal, omniscient, and omnipresent that you can observe every point in the universe at every moment of time to say there is no God? Where does such arrogance come from? Is it because Jesus told it like it is when He said that people refuse to come to Him because their deeds are evil?

No, it's worse than that. They think their hateful actions are actually compatible with love and with Jesus's teachings. To a christian republican neo-nazi, condemning homosexuals and slaughtering muslim civilians are righteous acts done for the greater love of all people and of God.

Probably they got the idea from the muslims.
They think if they put down other religions and say "see how bad they are" that maybe everyone will believe they are nice and peaceful and have this Ah...Ha experience and say oh yes now I see the light and i am going to be muslim.
Don't hold your breath to long for that to happen.
