I see them all the time! The Captain Morgan commercials with the guys doing that stupid leg pose, the Kahlua commercials and the Tangaray. Smirnoff and Grand Mariner. They're every where. How bout the one where the girl orders a drink on the rocks and she gulps it up, then just as the bar tender reaches for her empty glass she stops him to suck off the last of the liquor from the ice. The Bailey Irish Creme where the guy can't pick up the ice with the little tongs so he just dumps the Bailey's in the ice bucket and uses a straw. I could go on and on. I think you've just been alseep under a tree for the last decade Charlie!!! LOLOLOL

Like everything else involving advertising and sponsorship, there are always grey areas. Of course, when NEXTEL became the primary sponsor, it was the first time since Big Bill France's reign over NASCAR, that hard liquor was allowed to be primary sponsors on the cars. Brian France made that decision when Bill France Jr. handed the keys of NASCAR to him. Not a popular decision throughout the France empire, though has brought millions in sponsorship dollars. With that aside, and the entire "drink responsibly" campaign by all the liquor producers, (though I think "drink responsibly is an oxymoron...that's why my bar is in my basement lol) advertising for bourbons, malts, beers, etc. has taken on an entire new identity. Thus, allowing them to grace our television screens during races and other sporting events.

Wow, I didn't watch the race live and skipped through the commercials and cautions when I watched it last night. That is pretty interesting and I don't remember ever seeing hard liquor commercials of car sponsors during a race before. The Tangeray commercials come to mind, as far as hard liquor goes, "What's next, ice the doesn't melt?" And there are the ones where they are crushing the mint in the bottom of the glass for Mohitos? or something like that.

Liquor is absolutely advertised all over the place, not just on NASCAR. Absolut. Captain Morgan. Jim Beam. Bacardi. Crown Royal. And those are just the ones whose commercials I can think of off the top of my head.

Everyone says how much NA$CAR is a family sport. It is so nice that they show Alcohol commercials during a race and have Alcohol sponsors on cars. That will really teach the kids not to drink and drive. Oh but they had to drop Winston and any tobacco sponsors because of the kids. How's that for Redneck logic?

I see hard liquor commercials all the time, on almost every channel... especially Crown Royal. It's nothing new.

FCC changed the rules regarding hard liqueur a few years back. I think there are demographics they have to abide by.
