Dogs can be tempted with peanut butter, but cats won't eat it.

To get them to eat the lysine, a lot of cats won't turn away from meat baby food, in those little bottles. Only the solid meat kind, not the kind with peas or vegetables in them. The powdered lysine can be mixed into it and offered in 1/3 amounts to the cat, they like it as a treat.

There is a food specifically for persian cats made by Royal Canin, called Royal Canin Persian (I've put the link below). It's $12 for a bag that lasts a little over a month. Any pet supplies store can order it for you if they don't have it on their shelves.

Lysine is VERY good for the eyes and the immune system plus it helps promote healing. A cat dose is 250 - 500mg a day. We give it to one of our FIV cats when he has runny eyes and it clears them up in less than three days.

Have you tried pill pockets? They are treat that has a pocket that you can put the pill inside of. Why does he need the L-Lysine? When I looked it up, it said it is amino acids. If you feed a quality food, you should not have to supplement. This article can help you find a healthy, natural food.

Regular brushing can help with hairballs. My favorite brush is called The Furminator. You can also buy hairball gel from the pet store.

I had a cat that was on L-Lycine. Eye infections and Feline herpies. I was told to give it to her as EXTRA amounts to fight the herpies. as in 1000% normally needed.
I would crush the pill into a powder and mix it into her favorite soft food.
It is ok to crush it.
