I have the same thing. My thumb and forefinger (sometimes middle finger) peel. first the skin gets really tough then starts peeling. Thick layers of skin come off. After everything peels (I help it along because I can't help to pick at it a bit), I go into remission for several days and they whole thing starts again. I hate it so much. It is ugly and annoying. I have been to the derm. I started out with a cortisone cream and then to a steroid cream and now an even stronger steroid cream. Nothing is working. My derm said the next step is UV light therapy. Let me know if you got any help.

Dear Lee
poking a hole in the blister is probly OK but don't peel off the skin because it will really hurt the tender skin under the bubble when you touch it or bump it. It will be really pain full when warm or hot water touches it or anything that has acids in it, foods, salt, etc.
My suggestion toy you is during the day keep a bandaid on it and at night when you go to bed put antibiotic ointment on it and let it get fresh air.

You shouldn't have broken the blister but since you already did put a band aide with antibiotic cream on it and leave it for a couple days. Then let air get to it as long as you don't get it dirty and it will heal just fine. Without a band aide you would have lots of pain and germs in it.

Never . The bubble of skin protects the skin under the burn area. Exposing it leaves it open to infection and pain and tendernwss. Cover it with a bandaid.

You shouldn't have poked the water bubble,
it is our body's way of protecting it. When ever you get a blister let it be, it will go away on it's own and will be more likely NOT to get infected. Put on some neosporin or something to keep out infection and let it heal on it's own.

Since the wound is in the finger, you should probably peel it off. It'll be a bit painful, but since it is in an area that is constantly exposed to germs it's best to get rid of it so they aren't trapped under the flap of skin. Make sure to keep the wound clean.

This is not professional advice, but I always peel the skin off and it heals up very quickly with no infection. Is does sting quite a bit, but if you wash it with lukewarm water, let it dry up, and keep out of the garden for a day or so, it should be just fine =)

Don't cut off the skin, keep poking a little hole, eventually the skin will stick to your toe and make a scab and heal.
