What is a good digital camera that is in the range of $100 to $200? What brand do you recommend?

I recently bought a Kodak for about $150. I chose the Kodak because they use a standard memory card and give a lot of features for the money.

I suggest staying away from the ones that use the new mini memory card as they are not yet a standard card. You don't want to be stuck with a camera that you can not buy a memory card for in the future.

I also suggest staying away from the ones that have an internal rechargeable battery or a non-standard battery. My Kodak uses standard AAA alkaline batteries. Even though they don't last as long, I can buy new batteries nearly any place. I also keep a spare set in my battery case. If you have a camera that uses internal rechargeable or a non-standard battery, and your battery goes dead, you will lose the opportunity to take pictures.

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras and learn as much as they can from the internet.
Go to the store and hold them and try them to see what they feel like and how they take pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

I bought a Canon SD 1000 about 2 weeks ago after asking a lot of people..It seems to be great..I just downloaded some pictures to the computer with software provided. I bought it from B&H Photo on the internet. Buy a 1GB SD card and an extra battery..I also bought a LDR158 Case..Total with shipping $285.04..now I need to send in a rebate coupon to get $50.00 off....Not bad
