Uhm. Yeah, that happens every year. LOL After June 21st (the first day of Summer) the days start getting shorter. December 21st (Winter solstice, first day of Winter) the days will start to get longer. Doesn't seem like that should be right, but it is. :)
This is applicable to people in the Northern hemisphere of the world. If you're in the Southern hemisphere, it's reversed.

The hours of daylight get a minute or so shorter each day after June 21st in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemispher daylight hours are getting longer. Pretty sneaky system, huh?

Yes i love the bright summer mornings but i always end up wide awake. Its just a shame to see the darker nights coming back again.

yes noticed that its darker til later in the morning and getting darker earlier at night, very depressing when weve not had much of a summer

Oh man, I can't believe someone's actually asking this question! This is great! While slipping on your protective padding and aluminum foil hat in the morning, just leave the deep thoughts to those with the mental capacity to wipe themselves after using the restroom!!!

yeah its coz the longest day of the year was at the end of june and the shortest is in december....we therefore have days getting shorter (ie more dark times) inbetween.

Will it baffle you as much when it gets lighter after december????

this natural. the days and nights dark and light come after a specific period and they do change with the rotation of the earth.
