Okay my uncle phillip smokes A LOT and the doctor told him that he must srop but he keeps on smoking and doesent care and the doctor said that his lungs are becoming black my aunt took away his cigirets but he just buys more and im worried about him what shouldi do to get him to listen ?

I think you should continue to show how concerned you are about him. Tell him you care and you want him to be around when you have kids. Let him know how important he is to everyone. Just show Him love. Good Luck. <><

girl i am only 15 but this is how everyone got me to quite i was 10 years old when i started smoking and my family decided it was time for a change so they all got together and told me that they wanted to get me help they showewd me a whole lot of picture of my uncles lungs who hadng cancer and i kept smoking until i was 14 and he died. and all i could think to myself was that could be me.... so my advice to you is just hang in there hell get the picture an tell him this story and telll him it was a story of one of your friends hell probably stop...i did. if not than just stay calm go to www.stampoutsmoking.com and get some information about it and talk to him show him the chances he has of dying from smoking and the chances you have of dying from 2nd hand smoking girl if you want you can email me for some more info. im at kassiebays@yahoo.com

Unfortunately there is really nothing that you can say to get them to quit. It is like an alcoholic. They have to want to quit on their own. I have been trying to get my husband to quit smoking too because his blood pressure is too high. I even tried telling him that he might not be around to watch our son grow up (He just turned 3 this month) and that doesn't work either. You can just try telling him you love him and don't want him to die, but other than that, really nothing works.

Sweety, you can continue to express to him how important he is to you and if he continues he will not live for long. This is a tough one because he does have control over his habit.
