It has been done many times.
King James was a Catholic that did not believe the Bible should ever be in English. Since he could not stop them from being smuggled into England, he ordered his own made. And ordered that 400 words be changed to different meanings, times each used. It was very unpopular then, it took a century or two to become popular. And all that are using it today are not getting the whole truth. (Plus 800 - 900 words have totally changed their meaning since then too.)
The Catholic dose not want its people to do all the Bible says. So they have removed lines that differ from what they want. Even the second Commandment was removed and the tenth one split into two, so they can say that have ten.
I got the Torrie from a library and read my favorite books and twice I came across unfamiliar words. So I got my Bible and in each place a paragraph was missing. And the Bible showed the numbers by the lines skipped there too; so it is known they are not there. Nothing big about what they said, so why?
Are any Bibles complete today?

Yes, God knows fully well what mankind will do to the truth. The warning is for us.

John is referring to those who misinterpret the Holy Scriptures either by mistranslating them or presenting them in a way that they were not intended to be presented. The editors of the New Testament, for example, transformed the canon of scripture into what they felt best served their interests and agendas at the time. They edited, transposed, added to, and deleted any part that did not fit their perception of the doctrine of Christ, which at the time they began to organize the New Testament, was far from what Christ intended. John knew this, and wrote Revelation in such a way that they would not understand his words.

When Christ comes, the people will be judged according to how they treated each other. When the world’s religious leaders teach their followers to do anything other than “do unto another as you would want done unto you,” they “hurt” the word of God by “trampling it under foot.” When the scriptures are revealed in their purity, especially the words Christ spoke, these leaders and those who have changed and corrupted the word of God, will be figuratively “killed” by the sharp sword coming out of the mouth of Christ.

The "words of life" given in Revelation are simply the example and words of Christ. These words teach us to love our enemies and do good to those who hate and persecute us.

Those who do not partake of the world’s ways and have not been seduced by its enticing offerings—many of these being things the world thinks are good, but are actually contrary to the words of Christ—need only follow the gospel as Christ taught it to the Jews when he was among them: “that which ye have already from me” (Matthew 5, 6, and 7). Nothing else is needed to gain salvation.

Modern organized religions have corrupted the words of Christ, and therefore do not understand the true meaning of his gospel.

Taken from THE book explaining ALL of Revelation in plainness.

Actually, it is believed that the writer put that in there so that the scribes would be extra careful when making copies of the manuscripts. Basically, you better copy this right or you are gonna get smacked around.

Revelation was actually almost considered too gnostic and non-canon.

Also there are a lot of works that early Christians used that are not in the "official" Nicene canon. So who determines what should be added or removed from canon?

So you got to watch how you interpret things like that.

To err is human and scribes were human. They made mistakes at times copying manuscripts.

It was add or take away from THIS book, meaning the Book of Revelations. It has nothing to do with the Bible as a whole.

Most Bible scholars believe that the books John 1,2 & 3 were written by John after he was released from his exile on Patmos where he wrote revelations...so was John predicting a curse on himself?

I have to agree with the emperor guy here, there was no combined and cannonized Bible at the time John wrote that so we have to be careful how we interpret it.

I believe that was actually referring to the book of Revelation, not the entire Bible, since it hadn't been compiled yet. But Revelation is still part of the Bible, and since God is all-knowing, He is probably right that someone would alter it.

It was a routine practice in those days that others would add or take away from certain pieces of religious writing. John was just warning those 'bad guys' not to do that with his book or curses shall strike them.

There are many missing books to the Bible.
And, I think this is why the Bible seems to contradict with its self.
Yup, I've said this before. If God gave the warning, he knew someone was going to mess with it.
