It's based on suggestion. No extraordinary insights to be gained, and no ancient evils to unleash. If you leave your fingers in an uncomfortable position long enough, you'll start to move unconsciously. Then, another person starts to move with you as they accept your suggestion. You will tend to push the thing just a little further as it seems to form a word familiar to the people present.

A ouijja board is a piece of cardboard, it's a game like ludo or snakes and ladders for example. I played it as a child it's just a bit of fun. Nothing evil or satanic about it.

The teenager says, "What do you think of cigarettes? I'm not gonna try it, just wondering..." and before you know, is smoking. Then asks, "What do you think of beer? I'm not gonna try it, just wondering..." and mom and dad have to bail him out for his DUI. He gets a little older and asks, "What do you think of pot? I'm not gonna try it, just wondering..." and it becomes the only way he can calm down. He gets so mellow he can't hold a job and asks, "What do you think of coke? I'm not gonna try it, just wondering..." and ends up in jail. Leave the Ouija board alone. Don't ask. That kind of wondering sucks you right into the dark side.

I'm not really sure if it works but I don't wanna find out the hard way. I believe in ghosts but not the fact that they want to hurt anybody. So as far as the board? gee. I'm too scared to find out. I don't know anybody that is trustworthy enough to do it with. You have to be honest with it and not want it to be pushed wherever. I did it once w/ a friend but she was pushing it around for the answer she wanted. It wasn't the same. No. I don't think I would mess with it.

Ouija boards work by tapping into our subconscious minds. This device actually working may seem spooky because the answers we get come from our own brains using information that we already know. It's the fact that we know we are not consciously or deliberately providing answers that scares us.
People who associate this with demons are either too stupid to understand the concept or simply ignorant of the science (psychology) involved.

Many experiences exorcists (including the head exorcist at the Vatican) have said that there is a statistical increase in demonic activity, including possession, in those geographical regions in which there is a user of a Ouija Board. For that reason, I have steered clear of them.

It works in the sense that it turns normal muscle responses in two or more people into movement of am indicator on a nearly frictionless board into movements. Nothing magical there except for what happens in peoples heads trying to figure it out.
Remember that there is a reason why it is a parlour game sold in toy stores.

A Ouija board is a portal. A witchboard is more powerful. If the Ouija board scares you stay away from a witchboard. As for the difference a Ouija is a manufactured board sold by the thousands. A witchboard is handcrafted.
