Do people think that Tattoos are trashy?

I just got a tattoo and my family doesn't like it at all. They think that they are trashy. I was just wondering if other people feel the same way.
Oh, and it's a small heart tattoo on my hip where no one can see it.

Look up polls on the subject. People from the mid 30's down are more accepting. I think it's as much as 1 in 3 of this age group have one.

The older generation will continue to think of tattoos as negative, probably. In another generation, though, that won't be the average opinion.

Personally, I don't think tattoos are trashy. If I thought that, I wouldn't have gotten one!

I currently have three tattoos and want many more. I don't think they are trashy at all. Tattoos don't make a person trashy or a slut, etc, it's the person them self who does that.My mom didn't really approve of it when i got my first one she said it was too big. My dad still doesn't know. I'm old enough so my mom really has no say and she knows that. It took her a while for her to get used to, but it finally grew on her. she is starting to get more use to the idea. It's your body as long as you like it that is all that matters.

My dad hated the idea of me getting a tattoo. I think that it's because all of the ones that he has, he got while he was in the navy and most of them he was so drunk that he didn't even remember getting them. Everytime I get a new one, he never wants to see them, but he eventually gets over it. If you love your tattoos and they mean something to you, don't worry about what other people think. They're only as trashy as the person that they're on.

Not at all. I'm an artist, and I can't wait for someone to ink my own designs onto me. It's like keeping my art close forever.

The only trashy tattoos are the ones people do just for fads, then hate a year later.

Ah once again the inked are "trashy"!

Unfortunately to many people, mostly those that do not have tattoos or understand why those of us do have tattoos, seem to think that people with them are trashy, uneducated, circus animals.

Every single one of my tattoos has deep personal meaning to me and they will always remind me of specific moments in my life - good and bad.

I have a great respect for the person that takes the time to ask me about my tattoos rather than just stare at me in disgust.

If theyre all over your body, totally trashy!!!!
But in your case, its just a simple small tattoo- just one. Then again, how old are you? If youre 20 or above its not trashy but if youre like 18 or younger, yourre in tttrrrroooouuubbblllee!!!1 lol jk.... good luck lol :)

of course people think they're trashy, but it shouldn't matter, if you like it, then who cares, right!? afterall, you got it for you, not for someone else, right!?!?

the only tattoos that i think are trashy are the ones that people get just to look "cool"... the meaningless tattoos.

It depends some do some don't.My cousin thinks they are unattractive in woman but his brother thinks they look nice.
For some people it depends on where you got it,and what design it is.Personally,I love tattoos.But I work with lots of people since I am a paramedic so it cannot be visable.However,I had to pull my sleave up several times for emergencies and people have seen it so technically it really doesnt matter.It matters what you like.

No, i don´t think so, because it looks very nice when you have your tattoo on the right body side. and the motive is important, too. And your small heart tattoo on your hip must be look very nice..

I have 6. My dad's side of the family is completly against them. It doesn't matter what other people think. It's your body and your tattoo.
