Peach: Something like that. I just saw a Christian complaining about being kicked around by atheists and I thought, "Hey I never get kicked by atheists. What gives?"

As a believer I have never received anything but respect from the atheists. It is the Christian fundies that send the hate mail.

I think it is all in how we approach each other. I am Wiccan now, and was a Christian for most of my life. I have studied and have my reasons for leaving Christianity. Usually, when I say that, I get two responses: Respectful or hateful.

Truth is that we all are exactly like Mr. Rogers said: Each of us wants to love and to know we are lovable.

As an atheist myself I must say it amuses me to no end to see the US 80%+ Christian majority complain about persecution.

As an atheist I believe in the constitution of the USA. In there you are giving the same right as I am Freedom of religion. The right that makes it ok for me not to believe is the same right that makes it ok to believe I would never dream of taking any rights away from anyone, I am just a believer in freedom even for people whom I don't agree with.

the work of the believer is not of concern for persecution, for we have the assurance that per section is going to come but it Si going to be bad for the persons who are guilty of persecuting believers in the lord Jesus Christ.

You KNOW it's the same way with me. But I'm married to an Atheist and see much of life through his eyes also. I couldn't be married to a "Real" christian. lol

I have to say, you are the nicest, most easy-going christian I have encountered. I have heard it said a thousand times, and I will say it once more: I have no problem with christians until they try and shove their beliefs down my throat.

You are a great example of treating others how you would like to be treated. You treat us with respect which, in turn, makes us want to be respectful toward you and vice versa.

Let me just put it this way, Rachel -- you're respectful and have a good sense of humour, enough that I honestly wasn't sure what your beliefs were.

Thanks for being like you are. We need more people here like you.

Lol.

Well, we could do it if it would make you feel better. Y'know, as a favor because we like you so much.

Ok, you mindless heretic! Get thee hence to a nunnery!

How was that? Do I need to be more ad hominem, or will insulting your beliefs suffice next time?
