I work at an attorney's office and the woman I work for introduced me to her cousin last week. He called the office up today and asked if i wanted to go out to eat with him and my boss today. Unfortunately, I don't date nor am i really interested in him. What do I do to kind of lay him off without actually making him feel like I just rejected him?

Well get a chance where its just the two of you.
Then tell him nicely you're just not into him.
Since its not that seriously I don't think he'll be too hurt.

Well, it didn't sound like he was asking you out on a date since it was going to be him, you and your boss eating out. I would go with them its a nice invitation. And don't jump to conclusions he might just be being nice to you for his cousins sake. If he does ask you out on a date alone tell him you appreciate the offer but right now isn't a good time for you but thank you.

Maybe just tell him you don't want to date anyone "related" to work.
And he is related because he's a relative of your boss.
Just explain that it can cause too many problems in the work force, and you just like to keep your private life and your professional life separate ;)

Go out to diner with him and let him know that your not interested in him, but he and you can be friends. Give him at least a chance to see what he's about. He's paying for dinner so what are you complaining about?

Just be honest...tell him you appreciate the interest but you aren't interested in dating anyone right now.

Telling him you are not interested in him is not rejection it is honesty and if he does not respect honesty then the issues are his to deal with not yours.

How do u know he's interested in you? Just tell him you don't date, you're not interested, it's that simple.
