Do you find comfort in knowing there are others "grouped" with you, who already have a set of beliefs that provide answers to your questions? Or would you rather form your own particular set of beliefs that don't necessarily fit in with any one religion/denomination?

I would rather not use a label at all. As my cousin once said "Labels are for soup cans". But labels are helpful in defining parts of ourselves to others. I do have my own particular set of beliefs that don't really fit in with any established religion... which is why I use the label Pagan to define myself and my beliefs to others.

I identify as Hellenic Pagan so that other people have a way to at least attempt to understand what I believe.

This is not done for the sake of comfort as I have on several occasions gotten extremely rude answers to my questions and these answers are intended to be "stones aimed to hurt". I have had a question intended to encourage civilized behavior on this forum removed and have had emails stateing that I was headed for perdition and that someone was praying for me to convert to their religion.

I am not always comfortable with this, but I feel that sometimes we need to go beyond our comfort zone to help increase others understanding and confront those who deliberately spread misunderstandings......

I don't fit in any other set of beliefs, so i am agnostic basicly. The only way you're not going to be labeled is if you make up your own stuff and no one will know what to call you.

I don't like the label. If I had to, I would call myself an agnostic, but I don't even like that word. I guess it depends on how secure you are with your beliefs. People who are insecure tend to need a label to validate their beliefs. Otherwise, the label is just an arbitrary category that makes explaining one's beliefs more simple.

There is only One True Church... and "reigion", denomination, man invented doctrine and dogma, or "tradition" are not part of The Church.

Unfortunatly most get into "religion" with just the mind set you mention to be part of a group.... those of The Church do not "form" our own set of "beliefs"... nor do they follow any man invented "religion"... God delas with those of The Church one-on-one and personal.... The relationship between God and the individual has nothing to do with "religion"

Labels are stupid, unless they're for spices. Besides, everyone steers toward a group that has similiar interests and beliefs as them. That is all part of human nature. We seek out places, friends, groups where we feel comfortable, secure, and needed. But just because you are part of a group doesn't mean that you feel "exactly" as they do. Just similiar enough.

I say I'm agnostic, because I mostly am, and because what religion I am interested in at the particular moment (if there is one) changes so fast it would be silly to declare myself any one religion. It is nice when you're a part of a community, though.

No. I am of a FAITH not a RELIGION and that faith is in the Lord in heaven through his Son, Yezua, the divine babe prophesized by one of our priests (Nu) in Egypt around 4600 years ago. Those who know of us generally call us Theban christians, but we have no connection to the christian ideology nor the Catholic one. We use "all" religious texts of the Apostles for references on top of the ancient sacred texts of ancient Egypt. We do not acknowledge the hebrew word on the Lord, for "this" Lord is not the one as taught to our faithful egytian ancestors as being the Lord of Creation. Of the "beginning."

what is imp is not to be grouped , but to have a set of beliefs that provide answers to my questions.
we canot form our set of beliefs otherwise we would have billions of sets of beliefs divorced from a particular religion, or a mixture of religions.
