do you think those who tried to kill Jesus, hurt his followers, and have control over the city & the people, can't also mess with his book ?

Jeremiah 8:8
"How can you say, ‘We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,’ when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?"

this is the verse from the King James Version

Jeremiah 8:8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

that's another evidence ,that two Bibles wrote the same verse twice in a different way!

Yes. It is totally corrupted. The bible was written by over 40 men within a period of 1500 years. That's proof in itself.

Muslims sure do love to misquote God.

Jeremiah 8:8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

God is saying that if you think yourself wise because you have the law...The law is worthless.

The law is given to man to show man his need for God.
God is all knowing and knew man could not follow his law.
It is the reason for Christ and the atonement.

Would it not be insane for God to send a book and in the book say it can't be trusted?
What kind of insane God do you believe in?

and what religion do you belong to that sees it as good to misquote God?

Edit The first verse you quoted is not the KJV sir but more than likely a Muslims website that quotes it as KJV. Which is another reason you should be careful when believing the Muslims.

If you read the larger context you will see clearly that the scribes, priests and prophets are telling the people that everything is okay, that the Law is being kept, and that there will be peace because "God is with us", His people. But they are lying. It doesn't say their lying pens are making the Torah into a lie by altering its text. It says they are writing things that are false as though they came from God's law and teaching them to the people.

Humans have free will, and so therefore have the ability to corrupt holy books and anything else. There is SOME stuff left from the original teachings, but we can't know for sure which is which. This is why Dharmic religions don't put emphasis on scripture, but on doing good deeds as their God-given morals tell them to do.

Man who wrote the Bible was corrupted, but the corruption of the word of God comes in how man interprets the word, or changes it to suit his own needs i.e. the Sabbath. Not even Jesus, whom Christians adore, changed the law.

Edit: Concerning the above answer-
Man plays a part in the Koran as well......

Christianity is a different religion from Islam.... in our religion, prophets aren't some sort of guy carrying a book. They are people who came at a time and a place for specific and distinct purposes in God's plan.

The closest analogue we have to the Islamic "book carrier" motif is Moses. He came down from the mountain carrying tablets.

In the case of Jesus, he came not bearing a book, but a cross. That cross was the salvation of men.

What he left us with - in terms of books - was the Holy Spirit, whose job was in part to safeguard the scriptures, and to also safeguard his Holy Church.

DO not suffer a witch to live.

We know this was added by the writers of the King James Version. We also know the adulterous woman of whom is without sin must cast the first stone is also a newer addition.

These are but a few examples. Yes the bible is corrupted.

i'm not sure where it says in the Bible , but it says that the very breath of God was breathed on the scriptures. It is God - inspired. I believe it because the Bible is a book that has stood time and people today still use it. I use it. I think that God protects what belongs to HIM. also in Revelation, God warns that anyone who takes away from the scriptures is not gonna let off easily. (i'm paraphrasing).

Why would "they" have messed with it, yet left in the parts that point to Jesus being the Messiah? A more realistic reaction would be for them to reject it, which they do.

Intersting that you cite Jeremiah. That book, as we have recieved it, has been attributed to at least three different authors, yet it is typically presented as a unified text. The Bible is corrupted, in my opinion.

Please.

The Jews didn't control the New Testament...the early Christians did.

Nice try, Muslim.
