Taking Vitamin C is good, my child.
The DV of Vitamin C is the amount you should take to avoid disease. The THERAPUTIC dose is 4 to 8 grams. This is thousands of times the DV.
We humans don’t produce our own Vitamin C, but many animals do and it is often comparatively 1000s of times higher than the human DV of Vitamin C.
When you take Vitamin C, keep in mind that Esther C is shown in a few studies, to be easier on the stomach.
Also, consider taking a "food based" or a "whole food based" multivitamin. We need more vitamins than we get from food, but WalMart, generic, Centrum-like vitamins mostly just go to the toilet.
Lastly, eat a lot of living thing things daily, avoid trans-fats, eating too much red meat, and avoid the SAD diet. Look it up. Exercise. Don’t get fat. If you are fat, stop it!
Do well.

There actually are studies suggesting that an individual can take too much vitamin C. Studies suggest that too much vitamin C can cause arterial hardening. However, this is seen in individual taking "megadoses" of vitamin C which range in excess of 300 time the recommended daily value of the vitamin. You are only taking twice the recommended daily value, so you have no reason to worry. Actually, many nutritionists think that the recommended daily value for vitamin C is too low. In the eyes of many nutritionists you would be taking what they would recommend as a good daily value of vitamin C.

No. Actually they have vitamin c tablets that have 1800% vitamin c. Your body can only absorv about 2600% vitamin c in a day time so if you have more it will be released in your bowel movement. The worse that can happen is if you have over 2000% you can have diareah and your bowel movement will look yellow this site I am providing has only a small bit of the info I told you have studied this topic last year that is why I know.

No evidence of serious side effects from large doses of vitamin C, but recommended a maximum dose of 2,000 milligrams per day because of the possibility of diarrhea, an inconvenience that usually passes quickly.
As a precaution, anyone with hemochromatosis, thalassemia, or a history of kidney disease should shun high doses.
So should anyone taking blood thinners or estrogen or who has a history of renal stones.
In such cases, doctor's advice is required.
Taking any more than about 200 milligrams per day is likely a waste of money anyway, according to a landmark study by Mark Levine of the NIH. Levine's group found that the body's cells can't absorb more than about 100 milligrams per day, and the concentration of vitamin C in the blood begins to level off at a dose of 200 milligrams per day.
The body get rid of excess vitamin C in urine, so drink ample of water as much as you can, that will make you urinate frequently and expel the excess of that vitamin.

Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin which means you cannot overdose. The only problem that may happen, but not with 200%, is irritation on the gastro intestinal track. This is not dangerous; you just may find yourself in the bathroom more than you want.

Questions on what daily amounts of Vitamin C could be considered to be an "overdose" still come up on a regular basis, to which unfortunately, there is no universal answer applicable to everyone, because overdosing on Vitamin C - just like overdosing on any other nutrient - is RELATIVE to the level of those elements that interact with Vitamin C. In other words, it all depends on their intake and ratio to Vitamin C.
Age, smoker?, non-smoker? Other vitamins? All depends....

Nope, vitamin c is water soluble so your body only absorbs what it needs. Most nutrition specialist tell you to take it to bowel tolerance- this is as much as you can take w/ out it giving you the poops. Track how much you are taking until this happens, then you will know how much your body can absorb.
When ever I am feeling a little clogged, I will take tons of vitamin c to solve the problem. It is a better than ex-lax!

Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin. Meaning if you consume too much your body will just pee it out.
Although too much vitamin C has been known to cause some abdominal discomfort but nothing bad will happen, just a little discomfort.

Your system does not store vitamin C, but you can over do anything. You need to help flush your system. I would suggest in the next 24 hours you should drink at least 8oz. of water about every 3 to 4 hours. The key word here is WATER, not sodas, milk, juices, or any alcohol.

no, excess vitamins are simply excreted from the body in the urine. Don't worry about it. Some trace elements and minerals should be avoided over the recommended daily allowances, but vitamin C is not one of them. You'll be fine.
