It depends on what you're buying! I'd take a 1969 Dodge Charger over a 1980 Chevy Citation.......But I'd take a 1956 Chevy Corvette over a 1990 Dodge Intreped.

I understand most Dodges have gas-guzzling problems, yet the Caliber and Avenger (2008 model) can get to 30mpg on the highway.

About this question, I would likely choose Chevrolet anyway due to a wide variety of ranges in performance like...

8 cars with 30+mpg (Aveo/Aveo5 are most efficent in the lineup with near 40mpg).

The 2008 Tahoe is one of the most efficent non-hybrid V8 entry-level fullsize SUVs (17city/20hwy with their multi-displacement V8, better than the Dodge Durango's 14city/18hwy).

The Cobalt is a around $1000 cheaper and around 4mpg better than the Dodge Avenger.

The 2008 "C6" Corvette Z06 has even performance, yet is cheaper than Dodge Viper by nearly $8,000.

The Silverado has many more awards than the Dodge Ram (Silverado got Motor Trend's truck of the year 10 times, Ram's only win of that title over 15 years ago).

Chevrolet Trucks are claimed as the "dependable, longest-lasting trucks on the road".

Now for Dodge's upsides...

The only things Dodge have is Caliber had a 5-star crash test rating, Avenger has AWD on the R/T, and that they have a "Lifetime" powertrain warranty (that's a plus), also their design are more bold and aggressive than Chevrolet (Chevy's Corvette Z06, Colorado Z-71, and Trailblazer SS are pretty aggressive-looking too though, if only more of Chevy's cars got more aggressive looking. Aveo and Aveo5 are too much cute and not much bold).

By these stats, Chevrolet is a bit better of a brand than Dodge. Dodge did some bold moves in the design department, yet Chevrolet is still a few steps ahead.

Chevy 100% They offer 8 models with 30 MPG or better.

The only feul efficient Dodge I think is the Avenger and Caliber-the smallest cars by dodge.

Every Chevy and Every Dodge model will have their good points and their bad points. What you need to do is figure out what you will be using the vehicle primarily for, do the research on the models you want and make your choice that way.

Ford! But to answer your question:

Chevy is more affordable and you can get some pretty great deals on them along with some great warranties.

Dodge has a sharper look to it but you really do have to pay for it along with the gas that you have to put in it!

As far as I can see any and all of them have their own problems along with good qualities. Just go with the one that feels right to you, test drive them all, don't go alone by what others say.
