I have some fresh cherry tomatos from the garden that I want to "spice up" a bit without really adding too much flavor. I want to enhance the tomatos, not cover them up. I was thinking of slicing them in half and adding olive oil, salt, pepper, and dried basil and/or dried oregano (I dont have fresh). Would this work? Any suggestions of other things to add or not to add? Thanks!

I think it sounds good as is. Or add a splash of red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar also. Or if you have Marzetti slaw sauce, use that instead of the olive oil. Personally, I don't add salt to my tomatoes. Enjoy them while they're fresh!

That sounds very good. If you like you can also add some balsamic vinegar to the mix as well as mozzarella cheese and serve with toasted baguette......
