i doubt it because people have a difference of opinion as well, that in it self can cause a war.

That's what has been the problem over the years, people focus on the institution and blame the institution. What they fail to see is that the institution of religion is not the same as the faith and values. The institution is the power base, which is based on man's interpretation of their religion.
Ending religion will not stop evil, because all you would do is to end the institution.
In the process of ending the select ones that are evil, you also end the institutions that are good. That is the flipside.
Many of the churches today are involved in many of the social work and relief organizations. Almost every church I know has a food pantry and benevolence or deacon's fund. The people in our churches staff many of the official relief organizations. Do you realize who were the organizations that got through during Hurricane Katrina? The Church organizations got through and were there and still are there helping out.

You would have a point if all wars and evil acts were caused by religion, but they're not.
In 1939 Germany was at war with France, England, and Poland. All four are Christian nations. Religion had no part in fighting the war.
The American Civil War was a war between the North and South. The same kind of people, the same language, the same religion.
The American Revolution was between America and England, same language, same religion.
Tim Mc Veigh was a terrorist. An American against America, no religious issues at all.
There's no end to examples, but I believe that you get the idea.

The heart of all man kind is evil. Whatever is pure man always finds a way to pervert it or change it from its original pure purpose. That is true with "religion." I don't think that any ones religion was originally intended to cause hurt, harm, or war but when evil men become the leaders of anything, that is what is certain to happen. That said, I don't care if you took religion out of this world, mankind will always find a reason to fight, kill, and war.

Well, the alternative to religion is to believe and rely upon
the "goodness" of human beings. Moral relativity would
rule - quite chaotic and inconsistant - someone will
always be crushed in society no matter what.
Survival of the fittest will rein supreme.
There would actually be less unity, believe it or not.
It may start out with all this celebration, but calamity
would very soon follow. No one will keep their
promises at all. That is human nature!

Of course, given that 'you' already believe it!
OTOH, ending religion won't really change anything for the better. Those evils come out of the human heart. Religion is an attempt at moderating that inborn evil.
You think man is naturally good? Then explain little children who pull the wings off of flies, burn honeybees with magnifying glasses, and shoot small birds with pellet guns for the sheer joy of it.

i could say Hinduism or Buddhism. i will communicate extra for Hinduism on the grounds that i'm Hindu. Hindus have no penalty for apostasy, and those wishing to return to Hinduism are welcomed. Hindus know all faiths, it is evidenced by skill of the fact that India has a great form of religions and little or no inner conflict. Hindus have faith strongly interior the thought of nonviolence and in karma, the two certainly one of which might make contributions strongly to human beings performing extra powerful. a great form of the failings i discussed for Hinduism could additionally word to Buddhism. in fact, all religions are meant to be tolerant and non violent, yet sometimes there's a naturalchronic to unfold the religion and for some, which skill putting down different faiths in prefer of their own (a minimum of that's what i could wager). this does not word to all supplies of faiths that are many times used for lively proselytizing, merely some. No faith preaches violence, that is going against elementary ethical fiber, yet a great form of lack of expertise, misinterpretation, and verbal exchange consequences interior the non secular conflicts all of us comprehend right this moment.

Nope, because although religion has been a contributing factor in all of these cases, it's not the only cause.
I'm honestly very afraid about the ideologies that might arise in a post-religious world... I hate anyone or any group that intends to make sweeping changes to society or take other radical action based on flimsy or no evidence.

Possibly. Religion is not usuall the cause of wars per se. Economics is ALWAYS the cause of wars. Moronic religious believers have always needed religion to be the guise in order for them to jump on the war machine. If you believe in religion, you're being used, you're a tool of the government, you're a tool. There'd still be wars, but we'd have to be more honest about our reasons.

You must remember that one human's evil may be another's righteous duty and a culture's basic rule. Religion can't live or act on its own, the humans that follow a religion are those that carry its words and actions.
