This saturday is my wedding shower, there is going to be about 40 people there, and i picked out this beautiful dress to wear, only problem is that it is a strapless dress and it makes me look fat (I have a little tissue in that part between your breast and your armpit) I've tried to find a shrug, but guess what, shrug season s over! Any suggestions as to how I could feel less self concious about it? Like I said, its this saturday

I don't even remember what I wore to my bridal showers over six years ago. I do know that I didn't care if I looked "fat" because I was marrying a man who loves me for ME not for my body. That's what matters. In the past six years we've both seen weight fluctuations. I'm now technically 15 pounds heavier than what I was on our wedding day, but I'm also eight months pregnant. My husband thinks I'm sexier now than what I was six years ago. He still loves me for me, and that's what matters.

However, if you are paranoid, find a light cardigain or a blazer. I would choose to wear one of those because I not only think that strapless dresses are too revealing and the room in which your shower is going to be held might be too cool with the air conditioning on.

You could always not wear the dress and find something else to wear. If the tags are still on it, return it for something in which you will feel more comfortable. If you don't feel comfortable in what you are wearing, you likely won't relax and enjoy yourself.

(Oh, yeah. Earlier this summer at my baby shower, I wore a cap sleeved shirt and some of the photos show me exposing some very hairy armpts that had not seen a razor since maybe last summer. I didn't care. I have more important things to worry about than something cosmetic and trivial. I was aware of it when I was holdin up gifts. I didn't care. I had more important things to think about than something that cosmetic and trivial. I still had fun, of course.)

That's a toughie... my suggestion would be to get some surgical tape (you can get it at any drug store) and right where the seam of the dress is, place one end of the tape and pull tightly until the extra skin is pulled down, then attach the other end of the tape wherever it ends up (by your ribs or whatever). I know the surgical tape trick is used by models to lift their breasts when they have to go strapless and to firm the bottom of their booties when they have to go panty-less and want to look perky. Good luck on the wedding!!!

buy a light short sleeved button up sweater. if you get too hot and need to take it off, pull the dress up to wear it covers the area between your armpits and breasts, or get the dress altered to fit to where it stays in that spot and won't slide down, and then you wouldn't even have to worry about buying a sweater jacket.

Every girl has this same problem to a certain extent. Why not get a cardigan or sweater to wear over it, or you could always return the dress and get a new one.

Try a shawl instead, they are thinner and they're always in season. You can find some at stores like Sears.

wear a cardigan or button-up sweater, it will look really cute, and if it's hot roll up the sleeves
