It was calculating fine and now all of the sudden it stopped recalculating once I change a number in one of the cells. When I reenter the formula it gives me the coorrect sum but still when I change one of the numbers it does not recalculate automatically.

Do, in the Excel menu:
Tools>Options
select the tab "Calculation"
and toggle 'Automatic' instead of 'Manual'.

Check Tools->Options->Calculations
to see if it is set to automatically calculate after any change, or if it is set to manual.

set your sheet to auto recalc and it will alter the sum.
