you're absolutely right. i'm sick of hearing people cry over animals when there is killing being done to babies in their mothers womb... abortion should be put to an end. life begins at conception. it's ridiculous. pro-life everone

But to answer your question. I think Michael Vick should get the maximum penalty allowed for what he's done. I do not like abortion, and it's not a choice I'd make for myself, but there are some cases where a woman/girl should not be forced to be pregnant or give birth. For that reason, my opinion is that it should be legal and safe.

Michael Vick should be punished because he broke the law -- LEGISLATURE that is already in place. He should receive punishment in accordance to his crime. Abortion is, at this point, a legal medical procedure. A woman breaks no laws when she chooses to undergo this procedure and therefore should not be punished.
I can't honestly say that I don't have a problem with the idea of abortion, however -- I support a person's right to determine whether or not they should procede with a pregnancy. Sure, there's the option of adoption, but there are women who aren't in the proper situation to be pregnant for 9 months and have a healthy baby. There are women with medical problems, women with addiction problems, women who are in harmful domestic situations. So we're talking about women who die in childbirth, children who have to suffer withdrawals from drugs, children who suffer from in utero broken bones (b/c of abuse) and genetic disorders (b/c of incest). In my opinion, abortion is not much more terrible than that.
Should they think about all this before having sex without taking the proper precautions? Sure, but sometimes they don't have a choice, and sometimes they JUST MAKE MISTAKES.
CAN ANYONE HERE HONESTLY SAY THAT THEY'VE NEVER MADE A MISTAKE OR DONE SOMETHING IN BAD JUDGEMENT?

Did you know that the humane society was originally created to protect children by making it illegal for Christian men to beat their wives and children to death.
The shift to not beating horses or dogs came later.
Look it up. It is true.
Now why don't you go after the reasons why women who want babies end up having abortions. Reasons like poverty, poor education, lack of birth control.

let's see here. dogs are sentient beings. they feel the pain of having their flesh torn. they suffer from the deaths by electrocution and drownings. a fetus feels nothing, knows nothing, is not sentient. cruelty to animals is MUCH more serious than aborting a non-sentient fetus.
