I just had a consult with a plastic surgeon for a breast reduction, and am trying to decide whether the scarring I will have is worth the benefit of having smaller breasts. If you've had this surgery, I'd love to hear about your experience and whether you're happy with the results.

the scarring was worth it to me! I went through years of trying on a million shirts that didn't look right. I would cry at my dumb granny huge bras. I would not wear spaghetti strap shirts like other girls. I could not find swim wear that would fit right. People in school thought i was slutty just because i had a large chest. My self esteem was very low for many years and i would trade all that for the few scars that i have. I had it done when i was 20 and i am 26 now and they still look good. My husband 9then my boyfriend) actually thinks they are prettier breast now. I really would not mind sending you a picture of what my anchor scars look like, but not the nipple part or the whole breast, but at least that way you can see what your skin will look like.

A good surgeon and a good patient will ensure that there will be minimal scarring.

Lets see. deal with back pain and possible severe health issues? or deal with some scars on your breasts while having a healthy back?

I know which one I'd choose and have chosen.

My scars are barely noticeable. Use mederma and scarguard and your scars will fade in no time, especially if you listen to your doctor.

Make sure you see at least THREE plastic surgeons in your health plan BEFORE choosing a PS to operate on you.

My scars are barely anything compared to how bad my back was. It was totally worth it for me and 2 of my cousins who had it done. Do the scars out weigh the problems you have now?

My former sister-in-law was happy immediately afterwards. For one thing, she could sit at a typewriter afterwards without her breasts getting in the way.

A couple of years later, though, she decided that the loss of sensitivity in her nipples was too big a price to pay, and she regretted having it done.

I've talked to other women who had similar experiences. I suggest you pay closer attention to women who had the surgery 5 or more years ago than to those who recently had surgery.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you well.

My wife had it done about 3 years ago----She now wishes she would have never had it done. She had it done by a surgeon that was highly recommended but the scaring is still fairly bad. Her nipples are now much less sensitive which sucks and that combined with the fact that the boobs are now smaller really sucks.
I would advise against it but this is coming from a guy that thinks there is no such thing as too big of boobs as long as they are on a nice body.
