Atheists have always had problems with the simple minded.

Some people need tangible proof to explain things. Science takes the emotion of faith out the equation. The Bible never mentions Dinosaurs, but we know they existed because of science. Science has also proved that places mentioned in the bible such as Sodom and Gomorrah actually existed. So it is a two way street. Science can be used to determine the events that led to the creation of the Universe, but that is where science ends. Science cannot explain the existence of God, or why the Universe or Mankind was created. The concept of God goes beyond human understanding, and scientific equations. The spiritual realm is very difficult for some people to understand or accept. Some people require visual evidence before they will be convinced of the existence of God. But unfortunately, when they do finally get the visual evidence, it is too late.

Heh, Exactly.

My car broke down, and instead of asking a mechanic what may have caused it, I thought I would take the religious approach and assign it to God. When I woke up in the morning, the car was still not working, so I guess the answer to my prayer was 'wait'.

It has been three months and it still doesn't work, God must be 'testing' me.

I figure if God is the creator of all, that includes my car and only he truly knows how it was made and why it doesn't work anymore. If I seek answers elsewhere I will be questioning my faith and may loose eternal life. So my car just sits there waiting for the answer.

I will not seek answers from a human, no matter how much they have studied automobiles and 'claim' to know about why the operate and break down. God is the creator, period, and I will not be led astray by a biased mechanic.

In Science, we conduct experiments and use observation and analytical skills to judge whether the experiments comprising of the conditions are fair and right.

I do not think that it is wrong to use the same set of skills to actively seek knowledge to help one understand if there is ever the existence of God. Through ancient times, ancient men across all religions and cultures have been seeking spiritual protection. If we want everything simplify, we must be prepared to throw aside our inherent human inquisitive trait and exchange it for ignorance of the mind and brain. This is just not the way to go to accept that God ever exists.

If the existence of God of any religion can ever be fully justified, I do not think atheists like me will still reject the "truth". Until then, there is really no point saying we make it so complicated. It isreally, we want to find out beforebelieving in something which we have so much questionings which cannot have good answers to them.

What could be simpler? Try this:

1. We don't run our lives following a book full of contradictions.
2. We believe in no supreme power, so what's to think about?
3. We don't understand why we're here, we just live this life the best we can, be a positive citizen, love our kids, work, play, and be.

As Oscar Wilde said "The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple"
Why simplify something that is not easily simpified?

And you shouldn't say "no one can understand science", you might have said "the people who are answering my questions don't understand science" (though I think on the majority of time, you would be wrong even with that observation).

Obviously someone understood it, or it wouldn't exist and be applied to everyday life, such as the computer you yourself are typing on, medicine, genetics...etc...

Must be nice to let someone else do your thinking for you, and to be able to walk through life with blinders on. Though I'm baffled as to how you could profess to have absolute faith in something that you never study or question, or explore the apparent inconsistencies in. That's not belief; that's brainwashing.

"God did it." That's much more complex a statement than a long, well thought out Atheist response. How did 'God do it?' What did 'God' do? It's a pat answer for everything!! At least Atheists aren't afraid to see that.

Thank you! You've made it much simpler for me! From now on that's going to be my standard answer! So-o-o, here goes:

God Did It!

Well, obviously we believe God doesn't exist so that explanation really doesn't work for us. Really, it would be similar to an atheist asking a Christian why he looks to God for answers when there is no God...We aren't trying to be difficult
