Roman Road to Salvation
The Gospel of Grace
(revealed by our Lord Jesus Christ to our Apostle Paul)
Many people think they will go to heaven because they have lived a good life. Perhaps, they treat all of their neighbors fairly. Maybe they volunteer for charity work and have never broken the law. Maybe they were even baptized or go to church regularly. But the Bible, God's Word, says that no one can live up to God's standard of righteousness.
Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one ...."
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God ...."
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Salvation cannot be earned. Everyone is a sinner and deserves death, but God gives eternal life. So how can we receive God's gift of eternal life?
Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth ...."
To be saved, we must believe the gospel. The word "gospel" means "good news". But before we can believe the good news, we have to know what it is.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel ... that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures ...."
This is the gospel which we must believe in order to be saved. Now, how does believing this gospel save us?
Romans 5:8-9 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."
Romans 3:22-26 "Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation (appeasing sacrifice) through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."
We can be saved from the wrath of God, because Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins and rose from the dead. He paid the price for us, and we are justified in God's eyes through our faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast."
There will be no boasting in heaven. We cannot be saved by our own righteousness, but only by God's grace, through faith.
Ephesians 1:13-14 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."
Once we believe the gospel, we are sealed with God's Holy Spirit. This is God's deposit, that guarantees he will redeem us, whom our Lord Jesus Christ "purchased with his own blood" (Acts 20:28).
Studying the Bible is an essential part of the growth of every believer. New believers should begin by reading the letters of our Apostle Paul (Romans 11:13), starting with Romans and then continuing through all of Paul's letters. Also, reading The Basics of Understanding the Bible would be helpful.

Continue to pray and live a good Christian life. Expose him to good Christian friends that won't preach at him. Above all don't preach! That will push him away from it. Ask if he would like to attend church with you, but don't force it. You catch more flies with honey...Tell him there is no proof, tell him that faith is a gift and that you hope someday he will also be given that gift. And let it go at that. If he asks questions answer them to the best of your ability. You could encourage him to read the New Testament or you could read it to him every so often (daily?) The personality of Jesus is pretty hard to resist! Another suggestion, get an old movie, The Robe, and have him watch it with you. That film is very persuasive. If he liked that one you could get ,Quo Vadis and Demetrius and the Gladiators. All of them are very persuasive. For some reason they don't seem to make movies like that any more. (Holleywood is no longer into Jesus) Good Luck, and keep praying.

If you don't have the answers to his questions then you cannot help him. The only way a person becomes a true believer is through accurate Bible knowledge, for all scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for disciplining in righteousness 2 Timothy 3:16,17.
So it would seem that both of you need to study the bible and come to an accurate knowledge together. Questions that the bible answers is the only thing that brings a person to Jesus and his father. For example why did Jesus make this statement? Mathew 5:5? answer is because he knew what his father had promised at Psalms 37:9-11,29. There are hundreds of questions that God wants us to know and he is willing to answer them if you are asking him in spirit and in truth. If you care enough for your boyfriends everlasting life and your own. then you will start asking the right questions. Then God will give you the answers, but you need to ask with the right motive. Also wouldn't hurt to get married if you are sure he is the right one? God doesn't answer people who are not striving to live by his requirements. In other words until you bring your life into harmony with God's will you put yourself on the outside.
(John 15:10) 10 If YOU observe my commandments, YOU will remain in my love, just as I have observed the commandments of the Father and remain in his love.
The point is are you doing the things that Jesus commands?
So this means you need to start learning, start at John 17:3.
If you need help just ask .

First off, you need to pray to God that He will give you the right words to say. Know one has better advice than Him, listen to what He says and He will guide you.
Show Him the love of Christ and lead Him towards Him each and everyday. Study the Bible- no book can answer questions better than the Bible.
Tell him of Christ's love for Him, and what Jesus did for Him. With Jesus, all things are possible. Never give up on it!!!!!!! Best of luck, and hope you help us bring another man into the army of God!!!

Leave him alone. As someone once said, a believer can see evidence of his faith everywhere, for a non-believer, no evidence will suffice. If he needs proof, you will not be able to give it to him as there is no proof either way except what you feel in your heart to be true. Just accept that he has a different point of view from you. Sorry, but truly there is nothing you can do. If he wants to believe, he will, if not, he won't. Besides, he won't appreciate it if you try to convert him and you may only lose him that way.

Stop trying to convert him. Sounds silly, but bear with me.
Don't try to force religion on him, and don't get baited into "proof" arguments. Just live your life as you normally would. If he is going to change, he will. If he has the propensity for religion, he will see your example and begin to ask questions. Then conversion will either come, or it won't. Give him a great example of how a Christian should live. But don't choke him with rhetoric and demands.
If you feel that you can't wait for him to discover your "truth", then you need to let him go and find a Christian boy to settle down with.

Well you cannot change a persons volition (free will) and you shouldn't try to force it. Simply state the truth and live as an example as best that you can. Keep on praying and wait it out.

Proof comes when he submits to the will of God and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ. If he does not fell inclined to do that then he is either fighting against it, or is not chosen.
Ask him if he would want to know God is there was a chance that God is true.
If he answers yes, then tell him the proof is in Jesus Christ, and upon trusting God he will receive the Holy Spirit, which is promised to him in John 16.
If he says no, then leave him. Do not stay with him.

You should let him remain happily whatever religion he is.
He's not the one with the problem... you apparently are.
Why did you start going out with him, if he's not good enough the way he is?
What an astounding display of arrogance.
EDIT:
Football is in the bible?
That's ... disingenuous... no... no it's not disingenuous... it's an outright lie.
Oh. But then, you ARE Christian.. I expect that sort of thing from your kind.

First, you gotta figure out where Jesus is. Then you gotta' get your boyfriend over there. I suggest luring him with candy.
No, really, he'll choose his own beliefs. Teach him about your religion, but if he asks you to stop, then stop. he'll make up his mind on his own about what is right for him, and trying to force him into anything will just make him unhappy.
